1159.0. "4GL/CASE for DECwindows?" by KYOA::SACHS (Black, with extra Caffeine, please!) Fri Jul 21 1989 23:22
We are rking with a cuprospect who is looking for a way of developing
DECwindows applications (including images). OK, you say...that's
pretty standard, why enter a note here (one might ask!).

Well, they have mandated that they be able to do this via CASE tools or
a 4 (or 5) GL. They don't want to have to write in C, or any other
    "normal" Application Development Environment.

What it really boils down to is "time to market" for the product. They
are in a highly time sensitive market, and can't afford the time it
would take to train their development staff in DECwindows programming,
or even in C (even though some do know it).

On their mainframe, they have a 4GL which produces C source. Is there
something akin to this for use in a DECwindows/Workstation environment?

An urgent reply is needed, as we must have a proposal in by the end of
    July.

    Thanks for any assistance.
