    I've posted this same note in HANNAH::DECW$DISK:[PUBLIC]DECTERM
    and was told to post the message here also.  My problem is this:
    I have a VAXStation II/GPX which is running VMS 5.1 and DECwindows
    5.1.  When I log into my system, normally a DECtern session is 
    started.  Now, after waiting about 5 minutes for a window to
    appear, I select SM and the message I get is:
    
    		"Started DECterm Controller
    		 DECterm Controller process stopped
    		 Normal successful completion"
    
    I'm pretty sure some SYSGEN parameters need to be adjusted.  My
    problem is that I"m not sure of which ones to adjust.  Can anyone
    help?

	Thanks for the recommendation Jim. I did increase my GBLPAGES and re-booted my system. Something is still off because the same error messages came back again. 	You might try defining the logical DECW$DECTERM_OUTPUT to point to some file (do the define in in DECW$LOGIN.COM ) and see what kind of error messages show up in the log file. Mark

	I found the same problem as in note .0, running the same software on a 6 meg VS2000. I did increase the GBL parameters and the user still loses sessions on a regular basis. This has been going on for months, I have various notes here and in DECTERM file and so far nothing suggested has worked. I must not be the only one having this problem...is anyone working on a solution? Sue

	I'm having very similar problems (see 868.*) and a number of others are too. No one seems to know what's going on with it and I don't where to go for authoritative assistance on it. Is there a DECwindows "hotline" anywhere? How about a direct line to the development team? CAN ANYONE POINT US IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION???
