| 861.2 | DECterm Controller stack dump | BOSGPX::SYSTEM | AJDVAX System Manager | Wed May 31 1989 16:35 | 44 |
| | Thanks for the recommendation Jim. I did increase my GBLPAGES and
    re-booted my system. Something is still off because the same error
    messages came back again. I checked the DECW$SM.LOG and it gave me
    the following information:

    %SET-I-NEWLIMS, now working set:  Limit=200  Quota=200 Extent=5000
    Session Message: Started DECterm controller

    Session MEssage: DECterm Controller process stopped: normal successful
    completion

    Session Message: Started DECterm controller

    	Any ideas as to why I got this stack dump?

If there's a register dump in DECW$SM.LOG, doesn't that mean that the
session manager crashed?

    I'm not sure. I'm not very familiar with DECwindows.

| 861.5 | point DECW$DECTERM_OUTPUT to a log file | NEURON::NICHOLSON | A belly as big as an oil spill | Mon Jun 05 1989 16:54 | 6 |
| | You might try defining the logical DECW$DECTERM_OUTPUT to point to some
    file (do the define in in DECW$LOGIN.COM ) and see what kind of error
    messages show up in the log file.

    I found the same problem as in note .0, running the same software on
    a 6 meg VS2000. I did increase the GBL parameters and the user still
    loses sessions on a regular basis.

    This has been going on for months, I have various notes here and in
    DECTERM file and so far nothing suggested has worked. I must not
    be the only one having this problem...is anyone working on a solution?

	I'm having very similar problems (see 868.*) and a number of
	others are too. No one seems to know what's going on with it
	and I don't where to go for authoritative assistance on it.
	Is there a DECwindows "hotline" anywhere? How about a direct
	line to the development team?
	CAN ANYONE POINT US IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION???
