812.0. "5.1 SDC upgrade woes..." by 16580::HAACK () Mon May 22 1989 12:42

    Hate to do this but I can't find an answer to a "simple" problem.
    
    I am installing 5.1 VMS SDC version on top of 5.1 FT.
    
    I have a VS2000.  
    5.1 says the following when I try @vmsinstal
    		"System must be booted MIN"   so I do so
    			(you know  BOOT/1 
    				   Set startup_p1 "MIN")             
    
    		Now It can't see MUA0 to get to the 5.1 kit.	
                      
    Any one upgraded to 5.1 have a suggestion on this.

    (My goal is then to transfer from my VS2000 to a 3100 without needed

You can do

	mcr sysgen auto all

which I suspect is overkill but it beats trying to figure out all the
strange names by which sysgen knows the pieces of your hardware, which
is what you need otherwise.

    Being a limited VMS person I translated your reply to be 	
    	"mcr sysgen auto all" AFTER I come up in MIN
