| | It looks like an XLIB problem to me. I've had versions of DECwindows
TPU hang around all day without any problems under V5.1 and T5.2 FT2.
One this evening even rode out a cluster transition (we rebooted one of
the two boot members in a 33 node LAVc)

Any suggestions from the XLIB gurus?

We are using the TCP/IP transport for DECwindows VMS and see
the same error occasionally. It never happens with DECnet and only
happens intermittently. Very rarely, the transport will work.
Sometimes it hangs, sometimes we get the error in the previous reply.
We can easily reproduce this also if someone cares to do that
for debugging purposes.
Hope the additional info is useful.

re .2: Would you execute a "mc ucx$ucp sho dev" command on the server
node running with tcp/ip and see of the devices attached to port 6000
    have the 'KEEPALIVE' option set?

| | I just will give some more info about the environment.
The workstation involved is a VS2000 with 14 Mb memory
and no local disk. It's booted from a VAXserver 3600 with
RA 82 system disk. There are about 10 more workstations booted
from the same 3600. Most of the workstations don't have any local
	disk for pageing and swapping.
Is it possible to set up the workstation so it won't be disconnect
	the TPU sessions ??

| 793.5 | edit/tpu/disp/decw and moving cursor = same error | 51336::P_SUNDSTROM | Peo Sundstrom SSG/VMS Sweden | Tue May 30 1989 10:45 | 22 |
| | Hello again!
I found out that moving the cursor up and down	several times
causes the connection to abort with the same error.
The problem is reproducible at will. The Display is created as
	Set display/create/node=mumble/transport=decnet.
The editing is started at a client and displayed at a vaxstation
	2000 display server.
