    The DECWINDOWS notes conference file got blasted sometime today.
    As a result, it had to be restored from backups.  The file was restored
    from backups done 2-Apr, at 22:00.  Anything written after that
    time will need to be written again.

    More:  I am not entirely sure what is going on here, but I suspect that
    Andy Leslie must have attempted to restore some of the missing notes
    from his shadow conference in the UK.  However, the restored notes were
    all flattened out and entered with his name.  In addition, many of the
    notes he restored were actually ok in the file.  I don't know whether
    this is because he did a more successful recovery later or because
    Mike Criner managed to find the missing file, or other.
    
    Whatever the case, I have deleted the notes Andy entered which I knew
    were duplicates (having just read the originals).  There are some which
    I did not delete since I did not cross check to see if the originals
    were there.  I did, however, protect them against replies on the
    assumption that the originals probably are there.
    
    Sigh.
    
    If anyone reading this is somehow responsible for the conference
    repeatedly being deleted, please be aware that I am very P**Sed at you!

    The notes were entered by an automatic procedure that went wrong.
    
    This procedure has now been amended and will not go wrong again in this
    way (he said, famous last words)...
    
    Whoever is deleting this conference, dammit, STOP! 3 times in 4 weeks
    is enough "fun" to last a decade.
