| 380.1 | A guess | STAR::BECK | 2B or D4 - that is the question | Fri Mar 10 1989 19:31 | 3 |
| | Odds are, you accidentally hit ^F3, which switches the arrow keys over
    to emulated mouse mode. Hitting it again should restore things.

| | I get the distinct feeling that the "Wait" light was a mistake. The
    normal meaning of that light is "your keyboard is locked" so the "I
    guess I have to reboot my workstation" reaction when things are funny
    and Wait is on makes sense.

| 380.3 | Yup, it was Cntrl-F3 to freeze arrows. | GLDOA::HACK | Don Hack, Volume SWS | Mon Mar 13 1989 07:33 | 10 |
| | Well I just tried Cntl-F3 and the arrow keys do lock and the wait
    light does come on. If I do a second Cntl-F3, the wait light goes
    off and use of the arrow keys returns.

    The Cntl-F3 is a high probably solution. With the MicroVAX II/GPX,
    I have OPCOM turned on and often do a Cntrl-F2 to remove operator
    messages. I am sure I miss the F2 once and a while and hit F3.

    THANKS!!!!

|  | Unfortunately you're right there!
Re .3: it's supposedly possible to change (session manager customize options)
the Opcom window toggle key: you can get it to use shift or nothing rather
than control. That would reduce the problem of slipped fingers, I would think.
