Through FT2.1 I maintained a combined UIS and DECW system. Now,
I want to build a proper SDC DECW system from scratch, without UIS.
I've got SDC VMS050 and SDC VMS051 files. I also have SDC DECW051
files.
I've installed VMS050 but cannot apply the VMS051 upgrade.
I think I need updates that will take me from V5.0 to V5.0-1 to
V5.0-2 before I can apply VMS051 upgrade to get to V5.1. Is this
correct? Where can I pick up the appropriate updates - I can't
find them at any obvious (to me) distribution point?

Bob, It wasn't clear to me which Version of VMS you were running. If you have SDC V5.1 and a spare RD54, you can put a virgin VMS V5.1 system on the disk with SYS$UPDATE:VMSKITBLD. It's not nearly as time consuming as re-installing all the kits. John | |||||
