Simple question for those in the know. Will the ULTRIX's
BL9 DECwindows version work with the VMS V5.1 SDC DECwindows
version? Just want to keep from wasting time before loading
this BL9 tape. Thanks

I am going to SDC but I wanted to play while I wait...
Will it not work at all? What won't work correctly.

No, UWS BL9 will not work with VMS 5.1.
You are at least two major versions behind what will work.
Among the incompatibilities are the font names that the
clients pass to the server as compared to the font names
that the server expects. These changed to match MIT R3
in UWS BL10.2. There are literally hundreds of other changes
between BL9 and SDC. It would be difficult for us developers
to even remember or recreate the state of the software at BL9.
