| 560.1 |  | BIGRED::GALE | Okay, I'll settle for 12/11/90 | Sat Dec 01 1990 20:12 | 43 |
| | Those that have read womannotes since last year, may recognize the
following as what I posted last year. It still has so much meaning in
the world today, that I decided to repost it as my hoiday greeting to
all that I have met, and to all that I might someday meet.

I wish you all a wonderful holiday season of 1990.

Gale L. Kleinberger (and girls - Becky, Jenny, and Rachel)

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always
understand. May the pain you have known and the conflict you have
experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each
new situation with courage and optimism.
Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will
always be there, even when you feel most alone. May you discover
enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace. May a
kind word, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile be yours every day
of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them.
Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending. Teach love to
those who know hate, and let that love embrace you as you go into
the world...
May the teachings of those you admire become part of you, so that
you may call upon them. Remember, that those whose lives you have
touched and who have touched yours are always a part of you, even
if the encounters were less than you would have wished. It is the
conten of the encounter that is more important than its form.
May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead
place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart.
Find time in each day to see beauty and love in the world around you.
Realize that each person has limitless abilities, but each of us is
different in our own way. What you may feel you lack in one regard
may be more than compensated for in another. What you feel you lack
in the present may become one of your strengths in the future. May
you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. May you find
enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself, and
not be dependent on another's judgment of your accomplishments.
May you always feel loved.

Where can I buy a ticket for the Polar Express?

I love the last night of Hanukah, because the menorah looks beautiful
with all the candles lit. But it's sad because the lights won't shine
    again for a year.

I love that my 6yrold wants to give 2 weeks' allowance to charity this
    week.

    I'm hoping for snow!

    certainly not least:

I'm hoping that our world can find a way out of this one without
war, and that our world can find a way to peace, for all of us and
all children, who are all of ours.

and I wish all who read this a HeartFullandFine Holiday!

| | So Carla,

You're getting your wish for a white holiday season? I only wish you
could have kept the cold for another day or two up there. However,
hopefully tonight, I'll come home to a fire in the new stove, if Frank
and Steve can work in 2 degree temps on the roof.

Yes, it's beautiful in Seattle. Driving is the only downfall, as
Seattle residents (many of whom are from California) have no clue
when it comes to driving in the snow.

Tis the season for flannel sheets, a fire in the fireplace, soup,
    homemade bread, and thick socks!

    I love winter!

    re:.10
this is slightly mis-leading. seattle and environs do not have any
serious snow removal equipment, neither do they use salt on the
roads. within hours of any major snow storm the roads here become
far more dangerous than any i've ever seen, including upstate
new york in the great blizzard of '77.

| | It is the days

    the time of wonderment
          and friend
    the season from above
    reminding us

       that turns
    the leaves
       from green to brown
    showers rain
       upon the ground
    covers hills and cities white
    with snow till they're alike
    and finds the moments
       that we shared this year
    the reason why i care

| | I would like to wish everyone in this file, read onlies and writers,
included, the happiest of holidays. No matter what your personal belief
systems might be, this time of year seems to bring out some very
special feelings in most of us. Up until I got to work this morning, I
was really feeling nothing about it. I wasn't depressed or ecstatic or
even just feeling "Christmassy" whatever that might mean. I just was
here and doing my job like any other day of the year. Now that I'm here
and people are bringing in food and presents and treats, I'm starting
to feel a little more in the mood. I just wanted to make sure that I
didn't forget my most special new friends from this file. Have a joyous
holiday weekend. I'll be thinking of you all on Christmas day. I love
    you all. Goddess bless.

Phil(who is not sure he still believes in Christmas, but has two
teenaged children who definitely do. :-) )

doesn't seem to feel he's missing the weather back there. He says they
don't know what to do with the snow when they get a significant amount
