    Hello.  My name is Woofer ("Woofy") Conlon, male house cat.  I am
    currently using a borrowed VAX account, so I apologize in advance for
    any confusion.  I share a house with Suzanne Conlon; she often refers
    to me as *her* cat, as if she owns me or something, but I prefer to
    think of Suzanne as my servant human.  I also live with a female cat,
    Tweeter ("Tweety") Conlon, who usually runs away from me whenever I am
    feeling amorous, which is just as well because I have been neutered and
    I don't quite remember how to do it anyway.  That doesn't stop me from
    trying, though.
    
    My hobbies include sleeping on a chair, sleeping next to a human on a
    couch, eating, sleeping on the floor, sleeping behind the curtains,
    chasing Tweetie around the house, sleeping behind the couch, being
    petted on the forehead and under the chin, and, of course, sleeping.
    
    I always look forward to meeting new humans, who can then serve my
    basic sensual needs by petting me and supplying body warmth to make me
    feel cozy when I sleep.  Tweety, on the other hand, is a scaredy cat,
    and runs away from all unknown humans.
    
    I look forward to reading this conference, although I wish there were
    more topics on such subjects as "What's the best cat food?", or "Is it
    annoying to be petted while licking your fur?", or even "When walking
    on a human's lap, how many times should you step on their private
    parts?"  But other than that, it's a great notes conference.

    intro in the Singles Notes file, too.  Don't ask me why, but that is
    what your intro sounded like to me. I used the Singles file for about
    six months before finding my dreamboat. We are married now and
    expecting our first baby in October.

    I have a confession to make.  I have not written any of my notes--I've
    just been lip synching to them.  My notes producer used some
    professional notes writers, and then put me up as the alleged writer
    because I look so sexy.  I would return all of my Hall of Fame
    nominations, because they were made under false pretenses--but I don't
    have any Hall of Fame nominations to return.  Oh well.

    Now that I hold my head in shame, I think I'll change careers and go
    into the music business.  No, I can't sing.  Why do you ask?

    well, it doesn't really mean anything, but if you want to read it,
    one way to decipher it is to print it out, then draw a spiral starting
    at the upper left corner, working your way in.  that should make it
    easier to follow the lines.

    'M�adhbh' is the Gaelic spelling, and my daughter's preferred way
    for spelling her name.  A more anglicised version of the same name
    would be 'Maeve'.  It almost rhymes with rave.   
             
    This was the name of a Queen of Connacht in pre-Christian Ireland.

    	A woman at the local (Nashua) book store is named
    	Siobhan. I asked what kinda name it was. She said
    	Gaelic. Siobhan is pronounced:

    Oh yes, Siobhan is a wonderful name.
    
    There is an Irish actress Siobhan McKenna.  A radio announcer 
    mangled it beautifully recently as an intro to her reading (on a
    recording) James Joyce.  She did a one-woman play of excerpts
    from Ulysses, the Molly Bloom scenes, that was magnificent.  I'd
    seen it in NYC and was thrilled to hear it on radio as performed
    by "See O Bah Han".  :^)
    
       Margaret (who also cannot figure out Gaelic pronunciations from
                 the spelling and had a LOT of fun in Ireland trying)

    My grandmother said her name 'shhiVAHN' ... which is how I learned to
    say it as one of my own names.  My other grandfather persisted in
    saying it 'shuhVAN' as that's how it was said in naming his sister.
    Hence, I presume there is some regional variation.
    
    My cousin Caitlin finally stopped using that name over here as even her
    own husband [the Philistine, ;^) ] refused to pronounce it other than
    Kate-lin [rather than the Cawch-lin she grew up on

    The one woman I know with the name Siobhan pronounces it "Shawn".

    As for the school/no relatives problem is concerned, I have a feeling
    that, at this time of my/my childrens' lives, I have all the stress I
    can handle, occasionally peaking at just that one bit too much.  No
    more room on my plate for anything but dreams.  For now.  I know this
    will change in a few years.

    I guess I've crammed a lot into my 42 years. I forgot to mention that
    I am a sports "nut" and I've been riding motorcycles since I was 16.
    Had a great boyfriend who thought it was a bother to have me on the
    back of his bike, so he taught me how to ride so I could get my own.
    He also taught me how to play pool and shoot rifles.  He was a guy
    ahead of his time!
    
    My friends call me Tewks.  Hope to meet more of you soon.  Thanks for

    I was gonna ask if it was Dick Wagman, too.  I don't know how he signed
    his notes because I didn't start noting until after he left DEC.  But
    I do know that he had the letter Q all over his office and had a book
    of Q's.  He once explained to me that his obsession with the letter Q
    began as a child and had something to do with a gift his sister gave
