| | I remember seeing a sign being held by a march-watcher which read
[I may not have the *exact* wording, but close, very close]

    NOW gave us-
    divorces
    abortions
    lesbians

I, too, have wondered if there is any subtle connection or insinuation
being suggested. Probably...God knows, there is always someone
who can find symbolism and connections in the most unrelated things.

What I was struck by was the lack of [for a better word] intense
coverage of the march by the media, at least what we saw on TV in
Baltimore on Sunday evening and Monday morning. We saw approx.
8 min. of news on late local in Baltimore on Sun. but the Mon.
Baltimore Sun had less than rabid interest in the issue.

I have this yuck/hate relationship with our local town newspaper,
and since a # of women from the YW community and local NOW women
were at the march, I am looking forward to seeing what it has to
    say about what occurred.

| | I suspect the darkness of the photo on the front page was
a printing process problem; with most newspapers I've read
over time I've occasionally seen the "contrast" out of whack.

As for the page 2 question, I'd offer a counter question - how
might we find out? I'd guess that many have an opinion, but
is there anyone here who knows someone on the Globe editing staff?

| | I'd be one of the last to defend the objectivity off the Boston Glob,
but if the march was held on Sunday, and Kim Crawford Harvie was
elected(right term?) as minister of the Arlington St Church on Sunday,
then coverage in Monday's paper doesn't seem anything but timely.

The photos are another story, though, since the quality of the p. 1
photo is very different from that of the photo on the front of the Metro
section of the opposing march in Needham.

| | My hairdresser is quite open about his being gay. He had invited
me to go to the indoctrination of Kim in Arlington. She is quite
respected in the UU church in P'Town where she had been an assistant
minister (? - not sure of her *official* title). She has also done
a LOT of work in Africa as a missionary.

I would have suspected that if the March had not been on Sunday,
that Kim would have been on the front page, instead of page two.
Her being elected was a *big* deal to the UU's in Boston and its'
    surrounding areas.

There was quite a celebration going on about this. I have not heard
her speak, but I want to, I understand it is worth hearing her speak
at least once in your lifetime.

I'm glad she got page two coverage... But if all my hairdresser
has told me (I even took a trip to P'town to hear her speak, but
missed her) is true, she deserve front page coverage.
