As a parent I feel I influence (manage) best by example....and I tend to
take that style into the workplace.

I don't ask anymore from the people that work for me than I expect
    from myself...

I am beginning to think that I may need to refine my style a little
bit and become more aggressive. But I don't *like* an aggressive
    person!

    Is there a happy medium?

| Don't think "agressive", think "assertive".

    Negative vs. neutral connotations.

| For those who may not have heard about it, there's a nifty
course called "Positive Power and Influence" that explores
four major influence styles in the workplace. Among other
things, the student gets the chance to try out unfamiliar
styles in some really interesting rle plays. It's delivered
by Leroy Malouf Associates (usually in N.H.), a long-time
DEC favorite. Your local HR/Training group should be able to
supply info, but if not, gimme a holler.
