JOB DESCRIPTION:
Will test systems and components for their sensitivity to electrostatic
discharges and/or electrical overstress, per specified methods, specifications
standards. Will contribute to finding solutions in case of ESD/EOS failures.
Will write test reports. Will be responsible for own test projects.
EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (minimum qualifications):
Associates degree in Electronics or equivalent technical school background.
Able to read digital/analog drawings. Familiar with lab test equipment; scopes,
DVU's, power supplies, etc. Organized and methodical in lab work. Background
in ESD or EMC a plus.

The Technical Support Group (TSG) is a multi-disciplined service
organization that provides a broad spectrum of technical services to a
corporate-wide, internal customer base, which consist primarily of
Engineering, Manufacturing and Customer Service.
TSG is organized into four Service Business Units (SBUs):
o Laboratory Services (DEL/EMC, M&TAL)
o Engineering Services (ESO)
o Information Services (TIS)
o Computing Services (TIS)

o Testing and Evaluation of parts, products and systems

1.1 DESIGN AND EVALUATION/EMC LABORATORY (DEL/EMC)

The DEL/EMC laboratory provides a broad spectrum of technical services to a
corporate-wide customer base. DEL/EMC services include:
o Engineering support and consultation services including product & option
design; electrical overstress/ESD test, consultation, and training; product
engineering responsibility for power and data signal conditioning devices.
o Components and materials qualification services encompassing all major
component classes with the exception of integrated circuits.
o The Product Safety Laboratory, UL & CSA certified, provides testing in
accordance with the requirements of DEC STD 119.
o The EMC Test Facility ("the Bubble") provides Electromagnetic Compliance
test services per DEC STD 103, for radiated and conducted emissions and
susceptibility to electrostatic discharge.

this *is* a great job, barbara!
i'm doing something similar, folks, and i knew ZERO about silicon
processing, and little about sem/edx before i started: about two months
later, i was - well, i hate to brag. anyways: YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!

| My boss Joe Ortiz will be back east this week at the job fair. I
don't remember what town it's in though, I think Marlboro.
He's looking for experienced systems level programmers for the
DSNlink project which was code named INCA. INCA will eventually be
shipped as part of the VMS kit and will be a VERY HIGH visibility
product. The current R&D group will be handing it over as soon as
V1.0 ships.
INCA is a means for customers to make high speed connections into
the Customer support center. There is a host node at the CSC in
Colorado Springs and a client on the customer system. INCA has it's
own data encryption and modem transfer protocol. Customers can send
data directly to the CSC and we can send to them. The field test has
been very well recieved by such major customers as DuPont and BELL.
Requirements are high level knowledge of VMS internals and networks.
BLISS experience is prefered but not required. Depending on who they
get the networks and VMS knowledge levels may vary as they know they
probably won't find exactly what they want - that means if they find
a network heavy then the VMS internals person won't require the
detailed networks knowledge and so on.
If you can't get to the job fair send Joe mail at BSS::J_ORTIZ -
the only drawback of the job is you'll have to sit near my group
which is loud and rowdy and we laugh a lot. :*) BTW, Colorado is the
most beautiful state in the union. The weather is great and the cost
