| | For those who are not into the real physical type of game, how about
good old traditional charades. It could be a lot of fun in a large
group like that. Trivial Pursuit is another quiet game for those
that feel like playing quiet games. Your reunion sounds like a
lot of fun whatever you decide to do. Hope you all have a great
    time.

| 845.3 | Pass the orange game! | NSG022::POIRIER | Vacation soon! | Fri May 13 1988 12:51 | 9 |
| | The game the adults always love to play at our reunions and parties,
is pass the orange game. You line up every one in two lines - two
teams. Get a medium size orange. The person at the head of the
line must hold the orange between chest and chin. They must then
pass it to the next person without touching the orange with their
hands. Which ever team gets it to the last person first wins.
We always have fun with this one - the kids like it too!

| | well, this isn't a "hilariously fun" game, but it can bring you
closer. If there is a small group you'd like to get to know better,
or there are several small groups who wish the same (they could
all play over a period of time) - you could go off somewhere quiet
and play "The Un-Game"...it's very telling and it may show you sides
of family members you have never seen before. Basically, it is
thought-provoking questions you answer truthfully...There are no
    losers...

| | Along the same lines, there's always Scruples. There are well over
400 questions and you might be able to do it with a lot of people...

The orange game and charades also get my biggest vote. We've done
    charades and Scruples for Christmas...

At our family reunion, some of the family members put on a skit.
    You could try that.

| | One more for "closeness" - Choose teams of about 5 - 7 people,
blindfold all but one, and have the blindfolded people stand close
together in a line, with each person (but the first, obviously) facing
the back of the one in front. Then a rope is tied around the lot, and
pulled snug so that there is contact between the people and not a lot
of manuvering room. Then the non-blindfolded person has to guide
the group around a course (up and down hills are great, as is changing
surfaces) - but MAY NOT TOUCH the group in any way - voice commands
only! The team making it around the course fastest wins. It is
also fun to watch, as people get tangled up.

| 845.8 | Over & Under / 'Round-n-'round | BASVAX::HAIGHT |  | Mon May 16 1988 16:18 | 24 |
| | Here's two:

    Over and Under:

Fill water balloons and put people in several lines, equal numbers
each, facing each other's backs. The head person passes the balloon
over their head. The second person passes it between their legs,
and so forth. The last person, if they receive it over the previous
person's head, passes it back to them under their legs WITHOUT TURNING
AROUND, and it goes back up front. (If the last received it under
the legs, then it returns starting over the head.) Have extra balloons
on hand in case one breaks. The person breaking it must run to
get another and start where they left off. Good warm weather game.

    'Round and 'Round:

Force a bottle, can or jar neck down into the ground about 30 feet
in front of equal relay teams. Each person must run up to the bottle,
put right finger on bottle and left finger in ear, and run around
bottle 5 times (this is DANGEROUS if the grass is WET!). Have a
person count the revolutions at each bottle. Then they must run
back to the end of the line. You'd be surprised how dizzy
five-times-around-a-bottle can make you! Many people go to the
wrong line or run in compleely opposite directions!
