684.0. "Prophet's son-in-law gives birth" by CIMNET::WALKER () Thu Jan 28 1988 11:30
    From The Wall Street Journal, 1/28/88:

    . . .One of the World's richest, the Aga Khan, who claims descent
    from the prophet Mohammed through the prophet's son-in-law, is the
    spiritual leader of. . .

    What I want to know is,* whatever happened to the Prophet's daughter,*
    Fatimah. He had a beloved daughter, who I assume gave birth to
    the Prophet's son-in-law's child, since all of the Prophet's
    descendents are descended from her.

| | I think you are misunderstanding the context. The major schism in
    Islam is between Muslims who believe that the Prophet designated his
    son-in-law Ali as his religious successor and those who do not.
    The Aga Khan is a religious leader belonging to the former group.
