When I wrote .23 I didn't know what I'd bring to the party: after all
I'm a batchelor whose idea of cooking is generally to insert the package
in a microwave oven...
Anyway, I think participating in this conference has had one good influence
on me, since I have gone from being a confirmed batchelor to being engaged
to be married (she finally said "yes" on Saturday!). I still don't know
what food I'll bring to the party, but I *do* hope to bring my fianc�e
with me... (she isn't a deccie by the way, and I haven't yet introduced
her to the joys of womennotes...)

ago....
The party will be Friday July10th in Harvard Mass at the home

| Within *seconds* I received 3 mail messages asking me what Spanikopita
is--you folks are fast!
Spanikopita is a Greek dish. The same kind of pastry that is used
for baklava (fillo dough) is buttered and layered with a spinach
and feta cheese mixture. It's moderately spicy (if it came out
right!) but not hot.
It should be acceptable to vegetarians who eat dairy as well.

| I could host a casual get-together during Decworld, if there's interest.
It wouldn't be limited to womannotes folk -- anyone in town for the fair
would be more than welcome. I live in Arlington Heights, which is
reasonably convenient to Boston, even by public transportation.
I have a large (somewhat jungle-like) backyard with a big barbeque,
and should have enough space inside for any reasonable sized gathering.

| I can accomodate about 15 to 20 folks at my house. I live in
Boston near Digital Boston (for parking).
If more want to attend we can consider other options. Most apartments
in the city are small.
Let's plan a get-to-gether at my house Friday, Sept. 4. If it seems
like there is going to be a large number of attendees I will panic and
come up with a brilliant idea.
