| Why is the base note set hidden? I don't like it when things are
set hidden and the moderators don't say why, but just that it's
"being resolved offline". Did the base note offend women? Was it
a "joke" in poor taste? Was someone personally attacked? At least
give us the flavor or what's happening here.

| Judging from the title "I am man, hear me bore." it is my perceprion
that the note set which was hidden, was originally written by someone
who, for what ever reason, is projecting her pain of, what
may have been a very painful encounter with a member of the opposite
sex, upon all men.
This is not a wise thing to do. To carry pain with you is to hurt
yourself on a constant basis. It colors your perception of reality
by giving , not a rose colored pair of glasses, but ones through
which all life seems foreboding and negative.
Addressed to the person who originally wrote 107.0: Don't do yourself
such an incredible injustice. To say all men are boring (implying
other negatives as well) is to accept its corllary, that all women
are boring with all attendant negatives. This is not true. I am
a man and I cherish women as the more compassionate of our genus.
The nuurturing qualities which are necessary to the preservation
of our race are to be found primarily in women. It is the men,
historically, who have translated those nurturing desires to an
outward expression of protectiveness. The less wise among men may
deviate to violence, not understanding what they feel.
We ... all of us on this planet ..... are learning a new way of
relating .... a new way of perceving ..... a new more philanthropic
way to love.
To propagate the misconception that either sex is a this or a that
is to hold our race back in its efforts to evolve to a higher life
form.

| .9 tells me that my opinion is a "reaction" to another conference.
WHAT CONFERENCE? I am new to the notes file. I've only been aware
of it for two months. Therefore it is not a reaction to another
notefile....it IS a heartfelt, sincere opinion. I express sorrow
that there is a human contingent on this planet that refuses to
accept the team concept on a social level.
That team concept is one of male/female pair-bonding. And I would
like to know why peoplesee a "war" between the sexes? There is no war
but that which exists in our own minds. Isn't it bad enough that the
leaders of respective countries are acting like bullies, ready to
spend our life's bloodin their attempt at world hegemony? Why must the
individual man and woman act in a similar self-destructive manner?

| Yes ... true enough ..... I did experience an emotional ping when
I saw the title. And I am sorry .9 for reacting to you.......that
wasn't my intention.
.8 is .. really IS ... a heartfelt conviction ... more than an opinion.
All I wish to demonstrate in this note is that there are men who
do not fit into the socially accepted role model society has defined.
And unfortunately, it is that segment of men that, many times, get
lumps for what the other segment does.
I really don't wish to beat a dead horse issue here .... so I end
with VIVA LA'DIFFERANCE!
