I have an Alphaserver 4100 5/300 with 2 cpu's B3002-AB's and 384mb
of SYNC memory. (3 128mb pairs) We are intermittently seeing a memory
test failure during the memory countdown:
Memory error at address 14C9C60
expected: ffffffff actual 8000007
The memory boards both high and low for bank 0 (slot 0) have been
replaced but the address remains the same. Would the system motherboard
be the next most likely culprit?
The console code is 4.8-5 and memory_test is set to full.
Thanks,
Joe Averbach

Has anything changed recently to cause these errors to start happening,
or is this a recently purchased machine?
Yes, my suggestion would be to replace the motherboard, but not for an
in-stock B06 motherboard. Rather, a B07 or greater motherboard. See
notes elsewhere in this file re: motherboard revs and SYNC memory. B07
may already be in-stock, but I would guess not yet..

The system is about 8 months old, and nothing has changed. We
actually have 4 systems all identical, this is the only one showing
this problem. The only parts changed so far have been the 2 memory
boards mem0 low and high.
