Does anyone have experience getting a DE450-CA (Ethernet adaptor)
to work in the secondary PCI slots of a Gobi 14-slot backplane?
OS - WNT 4.0
Ibus Intel SBC
Customer puts the DE450 in the primary pci and it works fine.
I searched this conference but didn't see anything. I also have a call
into the Networks people for their comments. It apparently works in a
AlphaServer 1000a across the bridge.
Thanks,
Steve

Steve, The DE450 driver needs to be re-installed if you move it from in-front of the bridge to behind the bridge. Basically remove the driver from the networks appelet. Power Down. Move the Card. Power Up. Install the adapter again. Iain | |||||

Thanks Iain,
I've told the customer. He will try it today. Thanks.
Is this procedure generally true when moving PCI options from one side
of the bridge to another? I take it this is a WNT "thing" -- WNT
expects it to be in the pci slot where it was originally installed?

Steve
