I'd highly recommend "Evangelism Explosion" by D James Kennedy which
is a "plan" for sharing the gospel that makes it quite easy to get on
the subject while in a conversation with someone, and provides a step
 by step approach.

Thanks thats interesting Jim. My church has been considering doing this
program. There is a 16 week training program which includes actual
experience, going out and using the training, as part of the program.
Our youth Pastor is interested in doing this with our youth too. Its
sort of a growing thing too because you start with so many trainers,
then each trainer takes on about 2 or 3 people. After the 16 weeks
then each of these people is a trainer too and takes on 2 ot 3 new
students. Perhaps thats where the name Explosion comes from. You need
to start with a set of trained people. Apparently one of the other
churches in the area is a training site. We haven't decided yet
whether to do this or now.

My church uses "Operation Go" which is based on Evangelism Explosion. The
training is 13 weeks (one day each week). It was put together by
Dr. (can't remember first name) Wood. I don't believe it is available
on a retail basis and is used primarily by Baptist churches.
Either one is a good program as, as I mentioned, it enables one to have
a good plan when talking with someone.

an oldie but a goodie - "Youth Aflame" by Winky Pratney - an NZ

too many years on the road.

| | Hi Shean,

Depending on what geographical area you are in, David Wilkerson's
"Cross & the Switchblade" could be helpful too.

Barry McGuire eh? I remember listening to his "Seeds" tape years ago!
One song that stuck in my mind was "I don't wanna talk about, anything
but Jesus". Used to pick up hitch-hikers, and turn it up loud! ;-) Ah,
    those were the days...

     Shalom,

I had never heard of Barry Mcguire until we went to
Don Francisco's concert last year. He and Barry and
another couple (the Talbots) were touring together. We
    	bought one of Barry's CDs.

I first heard of him many many years ago when he was with The New Christie
Minstrels, a folk group in the early-mid 60's.

Thought I was somewhere else. 8-)

I remember the deep raspy voice of Barry on the hit from long ago called
"Eve of destruction". Great song, that still has meaning to this day.

EE is a very good training material for evangelism. If you want
to order their trainning material you can call at (954)-491-6100.
Some material (for adult or youth) will be available to certified
    teacher/trainers only.

    Thanks for all inputs.
