    This evening, there was held in the city of San Jose, in the First
    Baptist Church (the one on the hill, Nancy ;-), the 4th annual
    "Concert of Prayer". Those attending were from a wide variety of
    denominations, coming together in the unity of one church, that of the
    Body of Christ.
    
    This was primarily for the surrounding cities in the Bay Area (Silicon 
    Valley), but was also intended for a national scope. Along with the songs 
    of worship, people attending were instructed to break into groups of 3, 
    and to focus prayer on the following areas;
    
    The Church in the City
    o Sorrow over division and past defeats
    o Prayer for reconciliation
    o Prayer for evangelism, church growth, and the cities perception of us
    
    The Needs of the City
    o Pray for electees in Tuesday's election (local and state) to look with
      sympathy on churches concerns
    o Pray for police, judges, lessening of crimes, voilence gangs, and drugs
    o Intercede for the homeless and poor
    o Pray for the proserity of the city, and jobs
    
    The Family in the City
    o Praise for the family
    o Sorrow over divorce and abortion
    o Pray for singles (future family leaders) and single parents
    o Pray for families, schools, school boards, and teachers
    
    Revival in the City
    o Intercede for the city for mercy not judgement
    o Casting down of satan's strongholds in the city
    o Pray for a visitation of the Holy Spirit and the world
    
    It was an excellent thing, to see the gathering of the many different
    churches, coming together in united prayer, to tear down the darkness.
    I trust God will move in a mighty way, as His people do as commanded in
    2nd Chronicles 7:14.
