Amen to that, brother Cameron, James....  I also remain in utter ignorance
on the issue of the identity of said Dr. Jack Hyles.  Lighten our darkness,
sister, blow away the cobwebs, KNOCK US OUT OF OUR PEWS TOO!!!! (but be
careful of the terminal...;-) 

Was it recorded in a format those of us in lesser civilisations can read?

    :-)  Well he exigeeted last night.
    
    Ephesians 6:11  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
    stand against the wiles of the devil.
     12  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against
    principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of 
    this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
     13  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be
    able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
     14  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and
    having on the breastplate of righteousness;
     15  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
     16  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able
    to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
     17  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit,
    which is the word of God:
    
    
    Hey Brothers and Sisters did you know that Satan is after you?  Did you
    know that he has a plan of attack?
    
    The hade [that's how he said it], he wants to attack the hade.  He
    wants to get you thinkin' wrong.  He wants to get you off on some wacky
    doctrine.  Let me tell you preachers something here in the audience. 
    This Bible has enough TRUTHS that are clear enough to be preaching
    about without trying to dispensation our congregations to death.  Talk
    about the Love of God, the Forgiveness of God, the Sacrifice of God,
    the Healing of God and the Power of God.  There's enough in those
    truths to keep you going for the next few years.
    
    Then he went on to exigeetin' at us layfolk.  Get your hade out of that
    soap opera ladies, get your hade out of that talk show ladies, get your
    hade out of that TV fella.  I'm 67.5 years old and when I kissed my
    wife goodbye, I still tingled all over... fellas, start smooching with
    your wife and quit putting your hade in that tv! 
    
    If Satan can't get your hade, he'll go for your heart.  Tell me folks
    where is your joy today?  Has Satan robbed you of your joy?  When was
    the last time you meditated on just what God has done for YOU at
    calvary?  Has your heart known sorrow?  Let God Comfort it.  Keep your
    heart clean and pure towards him.  
    
    Of course he said a lot more... but then he went onto the loins girt
    about with truth...
    
    Satan will attack you in your loins, if he can't get you in your hade
    and heart.
    
    It's time that we got back to some old fashioned HOLINESS in our
    churches.  I got 16 calls from Pastor yesterday and 3 of those calls
    were Pastors who were being immoral!!!  Preachers if you wanna be
    immoral quit pastoring for a year, then be immoral and quit dragging
    this Holy Ministry through the mud!
    
    [Now to us layfolk.]  Man you get your eyes of that other woman.  Too
    many of you are looking through unholy eyes at women that aren't your 
    wife or at pornography.  Too many teenagers will walk the aisle in
    white on the outside, but defiled on the inside.  PURITY, HOLINESS is
    EXPECTED from GOD's people, it's not a fringe benefit to God!
    
    I know your gonna say "Preacher it's 1994!"  God was God when he
    created the world, and He's still God in 1994, get your loins girt
    about with truth. [and he went on another 15 minutes - Yeehaw, Man was
    my face gettin blown off now! and I loved it]
    
    If Satan can't get your hade and he can't get your heart or loins he'll go
    after your feet.  Tell me when was the last time you had your feet shod 
    with the preparation of the gospel of peace?  When was the last time
    your walk caused one to come to Christ?
    
    [and he exigeeted there for quite a while about our responsibility as
    soul winners]
    
    My heart was pierced, encouraged and convicted as he spoke about the
    lost and the need to witness to them.  He asked each of us what areas
    was Satan attacking in our lives and to commit our lives back to God
    and put on the armor of God.  God tells us where Satan will attack by
    telling us the armor that needs to be used for protection.  It seemed
    so perfectly logical and yet so "down home" as he was preaching.
    
    47.5 years in the ministry, 67.5 years old, running back and forth on
    the pulpit, jumpin' up and down, kicking his leg up in the air,
    shoutin' hallelujah to God be the Glory, and preaching with a loving
    and convicted heart through the power of the Holy Spirit.  We had 1100
    in church last night.  
    
    At the alter call there were sparse few sitting in the pews.  The
    aisles were back up to the balcony as folks were kneeling before God,
    getting the hearts right through prayer and humility.

    sermon, so's I'll just say... that the statement alone can conjure up
    some great analogies if you let the Holy Spirit lead your thoughts.

One reason I thought this was worth giving its own note is because it then 
gives us space to explore the pointers that Nancy gave us to this sermon, 
without confusing the 'Praise' note.

   familiar or unfamiliar things around to distract us; 
 � he can magnify the minor differences between individuals down to matters of 
   taste and skill, so that we think of the traits of our earthly bodies as 
   if they affected our spiritual standing or eternity;
 � he can magnify the minor differences between gospel churches so
   that we express his pride instead of the LORD and His love; 
 � he can swamp us in form and externals which hide from the reality of 
   Jesus' sacrifice.

he just ain't reverent; don't seem to realise how he oughta behave.  You 
don't poke thoughts like that at me in church!!!!!

    Satan ain't got no standards in:	Music
	he wants it to praise him instead of praising God.  So he fools us 
	into thinking it praises us...

    Satan ain't got no standards in:	Bible versions
	Confuse 'em, divide people and make people fight over them, anything 
	so long as they don't just enjoy the truth from them...

    Satan ain't got no standards in:	Sexuality
	he tries to pretend that it's his idea, and you can only enjoy it 
	if you use it illegally.  When really, it was God's idea all along, 
	and He told us how to use it to enjoy the best from it, instead of 
	feeling unclean or threatened by it...

...just a start...

A little elementary Bible knowledge would show that sexuality is a gift
from God - He invented it, and told us not only how to use it, but that we
*should* use it!  It's only 'the other side' - outside marriage - that
looks on it a bit askance and singgers as if it were something forbidden. 
Hey - you really can't beat a God Who invents something like that!

    He spoke to the down trodden and the weak spirited.  Will try to enter

    You didn't get my point, but that's OK.  To tell you the point I'd have
    to talk about that which can't be talked about and get my bottom
    paddled as a result.

 I know that Jack Hyles has had a number of books published by 
 Sword of the Lord Publishers, Murfeesboro, TN.  I don't have the
 address with me, but I can post it later tonight or tomorrow.
