I am needing to re-evalutate all my areas of responsibility.
I have decided to continue to my participation in this conference,
but not as a moderator.

| Dear Noting Community:
I have been "given permission to report for other duties" by our
Father in heaven. What this means is that I'll be resigning my
moderator responsibilities and significantly curtailing my
participation in the Christian Notes Conference. In fact, my
moderator privileges are already removed and you may have noticed
my diminished participation already.
First off, the people of this conference mean a lot to me, more
than many of you will understand, but it is time for me to open my
hands and let go of my watch over the conference. This was not a
light decision, nor easy, but a firm one, and one I have made with
the permission of the Father. I say this because I have viewed
these responsibilities as a service to God and to a lesser extent,
to you. I realize that some of you may not view it this way, and
that's okay by me; it is how I saw my tasks.
My local church demands are increasing, my home demands are
increasing (as my family grows in maturity), my job demands are
increasing. My personal pursuits also call, which have been
subdued for some time. There is no question that the Christian
Notes Conference has taken much of my time and attention, both
online and offline. (In my defense, though, I have multitasked
between my job and the conference throughout the day with
DECwindows and often at home, and despite how you've wondered how
I can write so much, I have continued to become commended for my
job performance. Yet, there is more I can do for Digital which
will require more of my attention.)
So I'm letting go of some responsibilities to make room for some
other responsibilities. It has been my privilege, solemn,
pleasant, and rewarding, to have served as a moderator for this
time. I intend to keep a skimming eye on the conference and will
attempt to resist stuff that normally would have drawn me in. It
is someone else's turn. (I wonder if you'll ever see the day or
two of no TOKNOW::METCALFE entry?)
Closing remarks regarding my watch as moderator:
o Do not let anyone dissuade you from the Truth and climb over any
doctrine for the Truth.
o Truth has a measuring stick and it is called the Bible. Beware
of people who bring a different measuring stick and give their
voice no heed.
o Also, don't be lulled to sleep by those who only claim to be
Christians. You will be called a hate-monger for following Christ
and His Word as the authority for your life because it does not
tolerate alternate definitions of Christianity. Christianity is
an exclusive relationship with God Who has invited all to
participate, but only those who truly participate according to the
Word of God (and the Word transcends, but does not contradict, the
Bible in the person of Jesus Christ) are truly Christian.
o And remember when people oppose you with the exact same words
but with the opposite meaning: Isaiah 5:20 "Woe to those who call
light darkness, and darkness light..." You'll be looking at the
spirit of antichrist in the face.
o I'm sure there will be a hundred other things I'd like to say
after I post this. They'll have to be entered as I remember them.
If you found anything I have written to be of use, then feel free
to use it freely. If you have found anything I have written to be
offensive, please forgive me as a weaker brother. If you have
found anything that I have written to be uplifting, then praise
the Lord and not me; I am happy to have been in His service to
you.
