AlphaStation 255/300 with ZLX2-E (TGA2), OpenVMS Alpha V7.1 and Motif V1.2-4, no Open3D. When using the StyleManager to set the Backdrop to either InlayColor or InlayPlain, the system hangs to such a point that the reset button on the front of the system box has no effect. System must be power-cycled to clear problem. These are the only two pre-packaged backdrops which result in this behavior. Is there a fix for this? Thanks, Dave

1933.1 | Known TGA2 Driver Bug -- See DECwindows Motif and Open3D conferences... | XDELTA::HOFFMAN | Steve, OpenVMS Engineering | Tue Apr 22 1997 11:37 | 8 |
This is a known bug in older TGA2 device drivers, and has been resolved in the more current drivers shipped in the Open3D kit. (Be aware that you may or may not want the latest drivers -- there is a matrix of device and OpenVMS version support for each Open3D release. Open3D is the path graphics device drivers are first shipped via, as Open3D ships more frequently than OpenVMS. No Open3D license is required for 2D operations.) |
