I need some quick help please...
A partner brought in a 500/500 and asked if we could connect a tlz06
for him so I connected a ba366 to the external port. Now the system
will not boot! If I disconnect the BA, all is well again. I know this
is probably something simple but...
The OS is DIGITAL UNIX.
All help will be appreciated.
Thanks,

Check the cable length. The cable from the 500 to the Ba356 should be
no longer than a meter.

Hi,
the tlz06 never been in the qual list, so it no guarantee it will work.
But it
should not cause the system not able to boot. When you add the ba366 to
the
external port, what's other devices are in that ba366? You want to make
sure
there are no address conflict on the same SCSI bus. At the console,
type show
device command and see you boot device exist??
Things to try:
unplug all device form ba366 and with the ba366 connect to the external
port
and type show device command and see your boot device still there or
try to
boot the system and see still boot. If boot and try put ba366's device
back one
at the time and find which device maybe problem and cause conflict with
the
boot device. Also made sure you have good external cable and connection
to the
external port. If you find device has conflict with the boot and try to
move to
the other slot it should work for you, because in the same SCSI bus
should
never same two device with same address id. Hope this help!!
