If the vehicle has separate lamps for turn and stop lights you will have
to buy a converter. These are now available in many auto parts stores,
and even some department stores.

     If your putting new pigtails on, you also may notice that the new
     one has 4 wires as stated in the previous note but the trailer
     may have 5 2 browns. Because sometimes they run seperate running light
     wires on each side. If this is the case simply put the 2 brown wires
     on the trailer side together and put them on the single brown on the
     pigtail side.

    I had a problem with boats long ago and deleted it.
    When I went looking again, the dir said it was on
    SAMIAM.  That got me nowhere fast, so I decided to 
    pester the pros for the nice lady.
    
    She's all set, the kid got it with your help and 
    me riding "pony express".

|  |     Hopefully some of you folks can help me out with this question. I will
    be going down the Cape for Labor Day weekend and a friend of mine wants
    me to bring down his grandparent's boat. The problem is that my trailer
    is set up for 14' Deep V hull and his boat is a 16' tri hull. Do you
    guys know if my trailer could carry this boat safely? I have a E-Z Load
    trailer which has two sets of rollers going down the middle and a pair
    of carpeted guide rails. (not to be confused with one of those drive on
    trailers)

A couple of things that I would watch for...
First, what is the weight capacity of your trailer?  Will it handle the 
increased weight of the 16' boat?
Second, since the 16' boat is longer than your boat, make sure that the 
stern of the 16' boat is fully supported by either the bunkers OR rollers 
all the way back to the stern.  If it isn't, the weight of the motor could 
damage the stern or hull.  (DonMac can attest to that problem with his 
little 14' aluminum with 10hp!)
Third, make sure that you have at least 100 lbs of positive tongue weight on 
the ball.  If not, the trailer may sway all over the road.  If possible, you 
may want to move the winch forward to 1) increase tongue weight and 2) to 
ensure the stern is supported by the bunkers.
Also, since the 16' boat is a tri-hull, make sure that the hull has adequate 
support on several points of the hull or you run the risk of damage.

|  |     I'd call the folks at Greene's Marine, where you bought the trailer
    and ask them what they think - they probably could tell you right off 
    whether the trailer could handle it.  I'd be skeptical... -donmac

    your respones I have decided against it. The last thing I need is to
    be banging cars off the road while my boat is swaying 8^)
