I'm not going to lake O until the fall but just wanted to make a suggestion.
Route 90 in NY was getting a face lift last year when I want out. I made two
trip and each time lost a trail tire. Bring two and keep a close eye on them.

Jim, if you wasnt driving 80 mph to get here faster youd be better
    off. only kidding.
I had the same problem last year, but I travelled 2 times during the
day and blew tires both times, and I travelled 2 times at night and
didnt have one bit of trouble.

the new pavement they are putting down is black asphalt and during
the day it gets really hot. and when you travel 200 miles on it the
    tires get awfully hot.

A guy at the marina where I bought my goodyear tires had a
conversion table for tires, my 8" tires are turning 68 mph when im
doing 50 or 55 mph, so its no wonder the tires blew out, although the
goodyears have yet to go. the tires that blew out was from tire
    warehouse.

But I would definatly consider bringing 2 spare tires, to get a
trailer tire along 90 youll think you was getting a tire for a car....

Let me know when you guys come out and where you will be and I will
try and look you up on the lake or you can get me on probably 68 (vhf)
    just call for REEL TIME.

I cant wait for ice out on the big O she's looking good for 3/9/91

Just some food for thought concerning your tires. In reality 8"
tires are not made nor rated for highway speeds. Although we all do it
anyhow. I'm suprised that the dealer didn't mention this too you.
It's always a good idea to carry a spare, if you have anything under
12" tires your really pushing them going a long distance. Be careful
    and good fishing to you.

| 1541.5 | Small tires should not be a problem | RANGER::MACINTYRE | Terminal Angler | Sat Feb 23 1991 12:13 | 20 |
| | I towed my previous boat from NH to Fla twice with the real small
(certainly no more than 8") tires, and did over 70mph from time to
time. I was more concerned about the wheel bearings than the rubber.
If your running the orignal bearings and do not have bearing buddies
I'd suggest replacing the bearings and adding the buddies. Then as
long as your tires are in good shape and they are properly inflated,
you should not have any problems. I was spoke with my marine dealer
before my first trip and he said folks do it with small tires all the
time. One thing he mentioned that some folks do wrong is use the boat
for storage on the way down which can exceed the weight capacity of the
    tire and trailer.

I have 14" tires now and have to pick up a spare rim within the next
couple of weeks so I can mount my trailer spare for my trip south in a
couple weeks. I went all last season with a spare tire in the back of
the truck, not mounted on a rim... ok for local use but wouldn't dream
of heading south without a ready to use spare - which hopefully I will
    not have to use...

	Hi Bill,
Is there Docking facilities in Fair Haven ?
It sure would be nice to leave the boat in the water at the end
of the day. I have been staying at the state park so anywhere
near there would be good. I know Oswego has docking but Fair
	Haven would be better.
I'm planning on going sometime around labor day for the KINGS.
	Maybe see you there.
	Jim
