Well, there's Ugly Stik, Rhino Rod, Bionic Blade, Lady Lite, Samurai Stick,
    Bullwhip Rod..

No, I don't think "Sweet Stik" is a strange name at all...

| 1327.4 | Help make this rod whole | GENRAL::HUNTER | from SUNNY Colorado, Wayne | Wed Feb 14 1990 15:09 | 10 |
| | I'll put this here for lack of time to do a search over the NET at
    snail's pace.
PROBLEM: 1 Southbend Flippin' stick. Originally single piece. NOW, 2
piece with no method of joining. Line class 10-25# test, graphite.
QUESTION: What is the BEST method of joining these 2 pieces to make
this a one piece rod again????? Where would I find these joining
parts? HOW MUCH? This is a cheap rod so I won't spend much money
before it finds a quick trip to the trash can.

| | Well Wayne

What I would do is to cut back a section of the smaller diameter end
untill it fits into the larger diameter end. Then take the little
section you just cut off and turn it around backwards and epoxy it into
the large end. You have just made a ferrul to fit the two sections
together. Now you may need to lightly sand the ends so they slide
together. Then wrap some thread around the both ends to dress them up
and keep the glass from splitting. put some clear laqure on the thread
    and go fishing.

Of course you could just wittle a chunk of wood and jam the two pieces
together & tie up the mess with dental floss & give it a like of pink
    nail polish. Naw....

| | I think Walt hit the nail on the head. As remember, Dale Clemans
recommends a very similar procedure for making pack rods or
other multi-segment rods. I will check the book and get back to
    you with more info.
