The name of this street is OTIS ST.
You will then travel this street approx. 1/2 mile as straight as
straight can be,past ASTRA(on right),over a train bridge to a STOP
sign.
Go LEFT at this "T" intersection.
Approx 1/4 mile on the RIGHT is a street called MILL Rd. this is
the way to the ramp. It winds around a few BAD corners,and the ramp
is on the right hand side of the street.

Yes, count The Clan in, we will be there and this year we will
come out on top ! I have been the quiet member of The Clan in this
notes file, but can no longer hold back due to Gitzit's remarks
and the undue_abuse he deserves. I admit that last year The Clan
did in fact get shut out (after we shot our mouths off !), but
this year you won't find us huddling together to stay warm as
we will be staying warm from all the flag chasing we'll be doing
!!!!!
Les, you won't need a calculator to figure out any of the percentages
for the prize money, because you'll be handing the whole booty over
to The Clan at tourney's end !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like it.After all the talk last year and the results
Brian still insists on havin Hoofnmouth disease.Brian
watchout for the rest of "The Clan" if you get shutout
again they may use you as a "Fishfinder".Ya they will
stick your head in one of the holes and ask you if you
see any fish!!! Wiggle one foot for bass,two for pickeral
and shake violently if a Pike grabs your nose.

I see that the "CLOWNS" still have the motor-mouth syndrome. When are
they going to realize that the "BIG HAWG" is what fishing is all about.
I think that they should be calling themselves the "godmother and the
goddaughter's". It seems to have a better ring to it.
You "GALS" should not worry about winning any money, because as soon
as I show up it is going to be handed over to me at 7:31.

computers, including NOTES. I dont know how to interpurt them with
regards to tournaments, I may even be over reacting, but I am not

Last Friday I attended a staff meeting at which an upper
level manager spoke on the future of the corporation. He
addressed the subject of notes conferences.
Until fairly recently, it was the intention of the company
to eliminate all non-work related conferences. He said that
this policy has been re-thunk, and they will be allowed to stay.
He said the new policy is that they have decided that notes,
even personal interest topics, are a good way for employees
to get to konw each other, exchange ideas, expand horizons etc...
The only restrictions will be those that existed before; No
unethical behavior, no "for profit" businesses or ads, no
soliciations, etc... I don't know how a tournament falls
under these rules, but if you make it a charitable event by
donating a portion of the entry fees to a selected charity how
can they object?

You've summed it up great, I dont know how to interpurt that
with regards to a fishing tournament with fees and prizes. I know here
in HLO they had a world series pool going with 1/2 the monies going to
the United Way, after they sold most of the tickets for all the games
some one came down and put an end to it. They made the UW chairman
return all the funds collected.

| I think there's a significant difference between the world series
incident and a fishing tournament. The main one being that betting
on professional sports is illegal (don't take this as meaning I
agree with the law) and that fishing tournaments are not. I read
the rewritten section of the orangebook several times and didn't
find anything that could be judged as prohibiting notes, or a
tournament. It's to prevent someone from putting an add in saying
that they're in the business of selling fishing tackle, or mowing
lawns, or whatever. The solicitation section is meant to keep people
from sending out mail messages to a large distribution saying they're
kids selling girl scout cookies or some similar situation.

BTW....A comedian on HBO the other night said that ICE Fishing is for
those with cronic marital difficulties......."Can you imagine waking up
at 4 in the morning and looking at the other side of the bed and
deciding that you would rather spend the rest of the day in a cardboard
box on a frozen lake!"

All contestants will use the official entrance application, The one
with Al Hamiltons picture on it!

the Judges.
All winners will recive their awards wrapped in entrance applications
suitable for framing.

| I see the interstate lake topic comming into play again here. Why not
go for Long Pond in Dracut/Pelham? I believe it has fish, problem is
its accesability. Does anyone live in Pelham ? Could you get permission
to use the town park on the pond? I don't imagine there will be much
beach traffic with the water being so hard and cold.
Minnow's?? There is a guy in Nashua NH that sells minnows Wholesale.
Marks Bait Shop up by Sunrise Plaza. Maybe someone could pick up 10
pounds or so WHOLESALE and bring them to the tourney?? He packs them in
plastic bags & cardboard boxes with oxygen added to keep them alive.
I'll bring a coleman stove to cook hot coffee on.

| As lead spokesman for the "Clan", I agree that it is NOT a good
idea to hold this tournament this year unless everyone else can't
make it. I hope everyone can't make it at a certain time, place
and date. It is really too expensive to buy shiners (l0 inches long)
and use 2 foot steel leaders. I'd rather keep all my equipment in
the trunk of my car and drive around on Saturday, January 6th at
7:00 a.m. and find a nice place, full of Hazardous Waste, probably
somewhere in Westboro behind B.J.'s Warehouse and drop in a line
and take a chance on catching some sewer trout.
If anyone else would like to join me and the "Infamous Clan" on
that day, we would be glad to share my coffee and you can even
borrow a shiner or two.

The A-1 Site is NOT located in Westboro Ma. It is NOT a 325 acre pond
with more than 3/4 of it consisting of standing timber. This pond has NOT
been stocked with Northern Pike and Tiger Muskie (a hybrid cross between
Northern Pike and Muskellunge), it also DOES NOT has a good population of
Largemouth Bass and Pickerel. FYI Golden shiners are NOT the primary forage
fish.
This tournament will not be a catch and release tournament, but
if possible I would ask everyone to return the fish after it has been
weighed and measured, there will NOT be a hole in the ice next to the scales.
Winners will NOT be the three single heaviest fish in each of the
following categories, Bass, Pike, Pickeral, Tiger Muskie.
The legal limits for each of these species are NOT:
SPECIES MINIMUM SIZE QUANTITY
Northern Pike 28" 1
Tiger Muskie 28" 1
Chain Pickerel 15" 5
Largemouth Bass 12" 5
I will NOT have the scales set up in a central location for Official
Weigh-Ins throughout the tournament. GOOD LUCK and DO NOT DRESS WARM!!!
In case the Ice is not thick enough on 1-6-90 we will NOT postpone
it for two weeks, Jan. 20, 1990.

| Hey has anyone been out to A-1 yet?? How thick is the ice??
I spoke to a guy at te Fair on Sunday while I was getting my licence,
He said that the day before he and a friend ran all day for flags
and must of caught 10 bass a bunch of pickeral and a few short Pike.
He did sys that he saw one come out that was near 3 feet long, he
guessed it to be arounf 10 lbs.

| Originally I passed up on this tournament because of a schedule
conflict, but although saturday opened up for me, I opted for
Friday night smelt trip. I don't think the wife would like
me gone Friday night AND Saturday...
Many NH noters prefer smelt fishing when it comes to ice fishing.
donmac - trying to keep the wife happy so she'll let him go to Florida
again for another early spring fishing trip!

The "CLAN" has already fished A-1 this past sat. We got a couple
small bass one that was 15in was the biggest. The GODFATHER was
using his awesome fishing skills and pulled in a 24in. muskie a
little short but, a nice fish anyway. There is about 12in of ice
covering all of A-1. We did have alot of flags for the couple
hours we were there. The "CLAN" will seek revenge from last years
tourney!! We will "not" see you there sat.!!

Ya I hope it is REAL cold, those two fish are frozen now. If not
I'll thaw them out before hand.
On a serious note, You folks that are going should invest in a 5
gallon bucket. That way when you bring the big one over to be weighed
it will not get a case of frost bite. I saw quite a few last year
endure a 5 minute walk across a cold pond to be thrown down a hole
after weigh in.

Ice fishing in the UK, yes I`m always Ice fishing, I just open
up my freezer, fish out some ice and drop it in my scotch, from
reading the note about this Saturdays Ice tourney I wonder if
anyone in the Clan could send me over all the ice they are gonna
catch, going by last years result`s thats about all they are in line
for again...... I have trouble understanding how the ice stays frozen
with all their hot air floating around.
Seriously, good luck to all, I`ll think of you while I relax by the
side of my local lake fishing in a balmy 50 degrees f and not have
to worry about what part of me is going to freeze next.

| After disgusting this Ice fishing with Baczko, I have determined that
his Idea of a BIG minnow and my idea of a BIG minnow only differ by a
a factor of the size of fish that we intend to catch.
So, with his recommendation that the best bait to use would be
nightcralwers, I'll haveto stock up on them. Personally though I may
just stick with the 10" herring I was going to use in the first place.
Get that HOT COFFEE ready for Saterday LES!

THESE ARE THE O'FISHAL RULES
per the person NOT running the tourney
RULES:
1) HAVE FUN!!!!!
2) Violators of rule #1 may be banned from all future events!
3) You can use any legal bait allowed by the Massachusetts Division
of Fisheries & Wildlife. Includes shiners, worms, lures, etc.....
4) 5 (FIVE) lines in the water per person. Either 4 tip-ups and a jigging
stick or 5 tip-ups. Remember if you start to jig remove a tip-up if
you have five in the water.
5) Meet at the ramp by 7:00 A.M. After check in you can go out on the ice
and dig your holes, NO RIGS IN THE WATER TILL THE GUN AT 7:30 A.M.
6) Final weigh-in will be at 2:00 PM
Remember you are only allowed ONE Pike and ONE Muskie per day. If you
catch a keeper and it dies before you weigh it, that will be the fish
you use for your final weight. To avoid this you can bring it to the
scales immediately and get it weighed, return it to the water and continue
to fish for a bigger one. Or try to keep it alive and cull it when you
catch the next one.
SPECIES MINIMUM SIZE QUANTITY
Northern Pike 28" 1
Tiger Muskie 28" 1
Chain Pickerel 15" 5
Largemouth Bass 12" 5
PAY-OFFS!! All fish must meet legal minimums, two fish in each category
will receive a pay off.
Heaviest NORTHERN PIKE - 15%
2nd Heaviest NORTHERN PIKE - 10%
Heaviest TIGER MUSKIE - 15%
2nd Heaviest TIGER MUSKIE - 10%
Heaviest LARGEMOUTH BASS - 15%
2nd Heaviest LARGEMOUTH BASS - 10%
Heaviest CHAIN PICKEREL - 15%
2nd Heaviest CHAIN PICKEREL - 10%
In the event that both slots in each category is not filled we
will break the winnings down this way,
EXAMPLE:
PIKE BASS PICKEREL TIGER MUSKIE

left over 0% 0% 10% 25% = 35%
35% divided by the number of categories fish were caught in,
(in this case 35/3, or 11.6%) then a multiplier for the
slots filled in each category, (.6 for first .4 for second,

fishin starts pickin up in the afternoon.I noticed ALOT
of people stayed and fished until 3 or 4.
Its just too bad WE didn't get to burn "The Clans" sign.
They seemed aweful upset when coleman fuel was splashed
on their sign and matches thrown at it.Maybe next time.
Had a blast once again!

BTW.
In the Mooses & Ricci's disgust of not even getting
a wind flag I think I left my auger at the ramp @3:30-4:00pm,
anyone see it???? Please???
If I don't find it it means I'll have to go buy a gas one ;-(....
I also agree about it going a little longer 3-4:00, it didn't
help getting there late either (Ricci's fault ;-)....
Had alot of fun, still!!!

Yes Bill Bell was part of the BIG HAWG crew. We had a blast. And
let's do it again soon. I do have my "One that got away" story. When
I finally got a flag, the whole crew raced over to see what "HAWG"
caught. I reeled in the line after setting the hook. I started
pulling a nice size bass (3-4 lbs.) through the ice, but (here's where
it got away) it spit the hook out before I could pull it out. I tried
grabbing it with my hands, but realized that I had a watch on one hand,
so I used my other hand. But it got away, while I was soaked up to
the elbow. Well, maybe next time.
The whole HAWG Crew had a great time and like I said before, lets do
it again real soon.

| Lets take a look at the Icefishing events:
Team-Keg had a great day heavy competition with the group at the scale. That
is drinking competition. You could really get a good feel for it about 1:00. Is
that about right Clan?
CAOS (Committee to Abolish Offensive Signs) Took to the stumps once they were
alerted to a Offensive Sign displayed by the clan. An attempt was made to
turn the sign to cinders, but the clan objected. CAOS left once the Clan
assured the sign would be burnt.
Moose - I can't believe he didn't have any flags this year. Another repeat of
last year. I asked him if he went to a new location this year, The answer "Ya
we moved ten feet from the spot we had last year". Brilliant Moose. I still like
the hat! Oh Ya, so you don't feel bad we had well over 50 flags.
When I got back to the ramp I see this guy moping around (Les). I asked him
whats the problem? "I Locked my keys in the truck" Of course Team Keg to the
rescue. Being the law abiding citizens we are, we pulled the old Slimjim out
and after about 10 min of fiddling around he was able to open it. Please make
check payable to Team-Keg for the amount of $30. Thank-you.
Clan - Hosed again, that's toooo bad.
Drunk of the day? Good question I saw heavy competition in this department.
Team-Kegs entry was Charley Tuna, but there was better.
All in all it was a great time.
As usual it was a great place to fish. If we do another this place is fine for
me. We Caught a shitload of fish! One of the best days of the Icefishing season
for me. How about the rest of you?

I could only go 10 feet away from where we were last year due
to our late arrival (again not my fault;-) .... but Ricci and
I did enjoy some excellent marinated venison.. (Walt can testify
to this)...anyway I'll try one more time - maybe two......

| Just a note to say that we of the "BIG BUD HAWG" crew had a great time.
And a rowsing cheer for those responsible for putting it all together.
What happened to the CLAN, alls i heard from them all day was a
slow version of "We Will ROck You" (due to dead batterys in their
boombox)(make sure you buy fresh ones for the next one). How come you
guys left so quick? Didn't you want to see us collect our winnings?

I found out from a person here in the Mill they had
found that auger and when I read the file found that
EWE had lost your auger I extracted your note and
sent it to him.EWE are lucky "Team Keg" has a bunch
of honest,law abiding citizens on it.

| I had a fairly decent day out there on the A1. Caught about a
half dozen+ bass I think. I sure was psyched when my 2lb9oz
bass was in 2nd place till that 3.3 was caught. That was the
biggest largemouth I've ever caught so I was real happy ;-)
Next day, out on a pond in Oxford I caught tons of pickerel,
but too bad they weren't worth as much ;-)
It was good to meet some of you too.
