to register in N.H. go to state building on Hazen dr. bridge
st exit go right 2nd set of lights go left follow signs to PLATES,
first door on left past information.

| I registered my Mass boat in NH at one of the marinas near Weirs
Beach. I believe that most marinas can handle it for you. I think
it cost me around $30 for the year (ouch!).
If you don't hear of any campgrounds before you leave, there's a
couple along the road between Weirs Beach and Meredith. You can
also pick up some info at the NH state rest areas along rt 93.
I'm not familiar with all of Winni, but the area around Meredith
is very nice. Lots of things to do when you're not fishing, and
the only public (free) launch area I know of is in Meredith, but
there's one at Lakesport Marina in Laconia that charges $7.50 for
in/out. I think Gunstock is not too far from Laconia, if memory
serves, so Lakesport may be a good choice. It's right along the
road into town from the east.
Call Paugus Bay Sporting Goods in Laconia too, for up-to-date info
on how and what the fish are hitting, etc. At least take Lee's advice,
he know's what he's talking about.

| WORD OF CAUTION
I like you went up to Winnie for a week and was a little
disappointed at what happened. First off you can register your boat
at any Marina. It's expensive,mine was $38 for a 15ft 25hp boat.
Next a license for the week will run you about $17. Now the big
kicker once you invest all this money. Even though their are public
boat ramps you can't leave your out of state car and trailer their.
At the Meridith ramp like someone already mentioned,only the town
folks can leave their trailers and cars their. I went to the Marine
Division there and told them I was totaly Pissed about this and
just about everything in Mass has a state ramp you can use and leave
your vehicle in the parking lot. They said they were sorry about
that but that's the way it is on Winnie. I ended up paying a Marina
close by a Fat Fee to let me come and go with my boat.
So you can get around this if you know someone who'll let you
put your boat in and out. Rent a place that has acess to Winnie.
I don't know for sure but I'll bet any camp grounds on the water
would charge to let you in and out. Or to beat the system at the
Meridith ramp have someone drop you off and come back with the trailer
later,or you could take a chance if it's during the week and park
your car and trailer somewhere away from the public ramp parking.
But again you can't expect to just drive up an unload. Maybe someone
out there knows of a spot on Winnie where you can do this all for
free. The area you'll be in,Gunstock I thought I read,the closest
"Public Ramp" is Meridith. If money is no object then don't worry
their are plenty of places that would be glad to take your money
to let you load and unload. All in All Winnie is probobly like know
place you've ever fished before. The note before that suggested
the Pagus Bay Bait Shop is real good advice. They'll be able to
tell you what's hot and what's not. Good Luck.

| Try Aym's (sp) in Gilford. I haven't been there for a couple of
years, but they charge you a daily fee of about $6.00 and will allow
you to leave the vehicle and trailer there. It a big white place
(formerly a farm), with many boats there stored on trailers seasonally.
It provides quick access to Diamond and Rattlesnake Islands, where
the water is DEEP and there is good salmon and lake trout
opportunities. Their ramp is blacktop, and steep. They also have
a restaurant for breakfast.

Sounds like a great topic for a new note. Suppose you enter the base
note, since you were the first brave soul to state the obvious,
and the rest of us can jump in too. It might be interesting.
