| | Bart,
I gave the map a quick look and it doesn't look too promising in
the Wells area. Wells is known more for salt water fishing. I'll check
my reference library at home tonight and let you know what I find.
Of course you could try to tag along with George and the secret
service and do a little ocean fishing. ;^)
    Regards,
    Paul

| | Bart,

I was in Ogunquit over 7/4 weekend and although I didn't see any
ponds/lakes to speak of, I recall passing over (on route 1) quite
a few streams that looked inviting. Bring your flyrod .. who knows,
might be searun brookies or something.

| | Bart,
I checked a few sources at home and it doesn't look good for fresh
water in the Wells area. As stated in a previous reply, the Ogunquit
River does have sea run browns but it was described as a Fall fishing
    opportunity.
If you want to fish the area I'd suggest bringing along a surf rig.
You'll can get Stipers and Blues at the mouth of the Saco and probably
the Ogunquit as well. If you decide to do this give a call to Saco Bay
Tackle Company (207-284-4453). Cal Robinson and the staff are very
knowledgeable about local fishing. (Actually, it wouldn't be a bad idea
to call them regarding your original question.)
    Hope this helped.
    Paul

    	BART,

If you didn't mind traveling a little they have some
fine lakes in Maine. The out of state licenses are
high. Take in some deep sea fishing and enjoy
    	some lobsters.

Try going inland a little ways to Little Ossipee Lake in
            Waterboro,Me.I believe it is about a 20-30 minute ride,but
it has Lakers and some nice bass. Its a large lake and a
good launch which never really gets busy.
