      Hi folks! I was wondering if any of you people have heard of
    Lake Willobie (sp?) in Vermont? I have other questions as well,
    
    1) how is the bass fishing?
    
    2) do I have to re-register my N.H. to use in VT?
    
    3) what is there to do for the wife & kids besides fishing? (I need
    my space!)
       
    4) cost of non-residence fishing license?
    
    So if any of you Vermonter's can help me out on this it would be
    appreciated! I have a chance of getting a cottage on the lake 
    in the first week of August for $250 and I need to know if it's
    going to be worth it.

    Re:.0  Lake Willoughby.  I'm not sure about the bass fishing.  Lake
    	   Willoughby is a well-known cold water fishery, but by august
           the trout will be down deep.  7 day non-resident fishing
           liscense will cost you $18 as opposed to a $30 liscense for
           the year.  As far as things for the wife and kids, I believe
           there are hiking trails near by, and a beach on the north 
    	   end of the lake.  About re-registration, I'm not sure.  Some
    	   one else might know.  If not, I'd be glad to find out for
    	   you.  I'll give it a day or so, and check back.

    For the last 2 summers I have spent a week up at lake Willoughby
    just relaxing.  It is a beautiful lake that is very clean and deep.
    The area is very nice but very quiet.
    
    As far as I know there are no bass in the lake.  The main fishing
    activity is fishing for lake trout and what everybody tells me is
    that you have close to a zero chance of catching a lake trout.
    
    There are several lakes near Willoughby that claim to have good
    bass fishing.  I will see if I can find out which ones they are.

    		Don't you mean "AND" very quiet!   I believe you're right,
    there aren't any bass in lake willoughby....  You might want to
    try any of the lakes in the area of Lake Bomoseen if it's bass you're
    after..

    	Yes, Bomoseen is supposed to be good, as is Lake St. Catherine
    which is about 15 miles or so from Bomoseen.  You can even find
    some very good Bass fishing in Lake Champlain too, although finding
    the spots is very difficult on a Lake of that size, unless you can
    get some local help.
