| | I just put some 3/4" pressure treated treated plywood in my 14'
aluminum boat. I did not take out the middle seat, as it was
rivited in. I would have removed it, but did not want to cut
it out. Should work out fine.

    Gone fishin

| | I installed a "flippin" deck in my 18' jon boat this winter.

It is the same level of the middle seat, and from the back of the middle
seat all the way to the bow. Now I have 11' of fishing deck, and 5'
of deck, "floor" level in the back. Below the flippin deck, there is
also a "bottom" floor. and I also made trap doors for easy access, and
storage.....supported the deck with 2" by 2" at the ribs of the
hull up to the deck. No problem with two, people UP FRONT, no complaints
from blind draw's about not having equal time up front either. just
don't bend the shaft of my elec.! ;-)

    Hi All,

I guess this is as good a place as any for this question.....

I am in the process of installing a "new and improved" monster
back deck in my Aluminum v-hull and have a question as to where
the raisded pedestal seat should be located.

The new deck measures approximately 4ft. x 4ft. and runs right up
the the back of the drivers seat. The way I see it, the pedestal
seat should be as far front as possible. Since the majority of
fishing from the back deck is done either to the side or out the
back, there seems to be no reason to allow room in front of the
seat to walk around it. This would also free of space behind the seat
to walk around, fish from, and (hopefully) land fish from.

By looking at most other factory boats, the seat tends to be dead
    center of the deck.

Soooo, all you back deck fishermen, speak up and let me know what
you think. As for me, Now that I have a front mount trolling
motor, It's really not my problem anymore ;^) !!
