I'm thinking about picking up a Shmimano Beastmaster, can anyone
give me thier opinions on this reel? I was told it was a very good
one. I plan on using it on a heavy action rod set up for BIG pike
and bigger bass in heavy cover. Thanks in advance,

Hi Walt,
Think Shimano Reels are very good. I own four SpeedMasters with Fightn'
Star drag and they hold up to the BIG Kings on Lake Ontario just
fine. I've smoked a Penn on those fish, but never a problem with
Shimano.
