    Steve,
you need a licence to fish for yourself no matter what
equipment you use. The only exception is on some private ponds
such as Sunset Lake, in Ashburnham, where I live we don't need
    a license.

| | You need a lic. but the young ones don't. I think it should be free
for everyone who wants to enjoy it. Thats just an opinion though?

There is an age cutoff point, Check with the town hall, They have
a residant citizen minor fishing lic. that costs $6.50

Here's a thought? When a youngster starts to fish thy are given
a can pole( I was) and then when your an accomplised angler you
go back to cane again. Of course the diffrence between men and boys
is the price of there toys.

| | Steve,

I fished the Delany project many times and if you've never fished
there befor your in for a treat. Your children will catch enough blue
gills to keep them happy for years to come and you might latch on
to some large size BASS!! I've always fished it from my canoe so
I don't know how it will be from shore.

    					Good Luck,

| | You might also try Sandy Pond in Ayer. Fish from the road to
the left of the public beach. Lots of Kibbers.

| 803.10 | Fort Pond IS in Lancaster | JETSAM::CATALDO |  | Thu Jul 21 1988 11:58 | 8 |
| | Fort Pond IS in Lancaster, but the access to it is limited to the
public boat ramp, which is now over-run with non-resident power
boaters. Shoreline fishing is extremely slow there at this time
of the season. Even fishing it by boat should be approached at
the early morning hours to avoid the speed nuts once they get on
the pond. Most of the residents on the pond avoid their own boats
until activity slows down on weekend nights.
