Does anyone out there have any experience fishing the "Little
river" in the Waterbury/Stowe VT. area? It's listed as a pretty good
place to try for rainbows and browns, but I'm not sure whether to
fish the river above (north) of the Waterbury Reservoir, or below
(south) of the reservoir. The little river looks like it flows
into and out-of the reservoir itself. A buddy of mine is driving
in from Maine this weekend to do some trout fishing and I'd like
to try this water out with him.

Did you get a chance to try it? I was fishing there Saturday, above
the dam. My partner and I both caught a few small rainbows (the
largest was his 10 inch). Also caught some chubs and VERY small perch.
All-in-all, a gorgeous day, even if the fishing wasn't spectacular.
The water was fairly low (power company has been drawing off a lot
     of water).

| No, I passed and fished some local waters instead. I contacted
someone from Trout Unlimited and they told me that the river and
reservior had been drained about 20 months ago and that siltation
had driven all the fish down into the Winooski. T.U. is planning
on checking/restocking the water in a few weeks if conditions are
right (so I was told anyway).

Boy what a weekend though! Beautiful weather. The first day we
went out (Saturday) we stopped for gas in Jeff. A feller pulled
up and displayed a real nice brown (maybe about 18") that had to
go 4 pounds or so, kyped jaw and all. The Jaw's still a mystery
to me. Got it out of the Lamoille. Our luck wasn't as good.
