    They no longer require residence tax reciepts for buying a license...
    
    You should be able to walk into any place and show them 'something'
    with your address on it (preferably a NH driver's license which you 
    may not have yet) and get a license.  Even last year, I heard of 
    people from out of state just walking into places and getting resident
    licenses w/o out showing any id at all...

    	The best thing to do is get a copy of the fishing rules. These
    are found just about anywhere you can buy a fishing license. Check
    with your local variety stores. Many N.H. variety store sell fishing
    and hunting licences. The rules look like a small blue and white
    flyer and are free.
    	This year there are 2 types of fishing licence, warm water only
    and and all species. If you get the warm water only license, you
    cannot take trout or salmon. I think there's one more cold water
    species you can't take but I can't remember. It's in the fishing
    rules though. The warm water only license is $12.50 and the all species
    is $17.00. I think you are supposed to be living in N.H. for six
    months before you can get a resident license but you may be able
    to get around that.
    	As far as the resident tax, they no longer require you to show
    a receipt for that in order to get your license. They may ask you
    for a driver's licence though. 
    	A combination hunting/fishing license costs $25.00. In order
    to get this, you must have attended a hunter safty program or show
    a previous years hunting license.

    	I picked up a copy of the fishing rules for my office. The three
    cold water species are all species of trout, salmon, and American
    shad.
    	For those of you that have not yet picked up your licenses,
    the new license are made out of paper. The old ones (made from some
    sort of indestructible material) are no longer available. The deer
    tag is a adhesive strip of blue paper which you write your name,
    address, time/date of kill, and town of kill on. There are directions
    on the back which tell you how to attach it.
	I don't know how the rest of you feel, but it seems as if you
    get less and pay more every year. Last year, a combo hunting/fishing
    license was $17. This year it's $25, an increase of $8. This is
    almost a 50% increase over last year. Hopefully, there will not
    be another increase for a few years.

    	$25.00 doesn't sound too bad to me.  Try Colorado's license
    fees.  For residents the following rates apply:
    fishing and small game  	$15.00
    Duck stamp			$15.00
    Deer			$25.00
    Elk				$30.00
    Bear			$30.00
    Boat			$20.00
    Boat Motor			 Depends on HP
    State Parks Pass		$25.00/1 vehicle, $10.00/extra vehicle
    
    Then we get to the expensive stuff (rods, reels, guns.........)

    	In comparison it's not to bad. The $15 for your duck stamp, is
    that just the state stamp ? In N.H., we pay $7.50 for the federal
    and $4 for the state duck stamp.
    	The N.H. license includes all big game huntable in N.H.. There
    is a separate archery license for $15 and a separate muzzle loader
    license for $10.50. There is also a pheasant stamp for $10 and a
    wild turkey permit by lottery ($5 I think).
    	You can take 2 deer in N.H. using any combination of rifle/shotgun,
    long bow, or single shot muzzle loader.

    	I just wanted to show that your costs are not that bad.  As
    for archery, muzzle loader, turkey, if it walks, flies, $h1ts, or
    ???? you pay extra.  But we also have a fairly well regulated game
    department and lower taxes.  It's all relative.  Ya gets what ya
    pays fer.  Inflation eats up everyones budget sooner or later.
