Dick the fishing is "GREAT" just like the name says. The main
fishery that everybody in maine goes for is salmon. the lake also
has a good trout, northern pike, white perch (big ones),smallmouth, and
large mouth bass, and finally pickerel populations. the lake is
quite large and deep in some areas. i recommend that you get a
debth map at the fish and game or pick up a delorme book and check
the map for great pond. caution is highly recommended as there
are plenty of obstacles (BIG F*&!EN ROCKS) which would and could
and will ruin your boat or the boat you rent. i hope this has helped
you and i really do expect that you will get into some "GREAT" fishing.
have a hoppy day

Hey Dick,I just came back from there over the Fourth weekend. Look in
the Maine notes here and the guys helped me out up there. I stayed
up at the North end of the Lake and fished the NE weeds. Big Pickeral
(or Pike) in tall grass. Then I fished in 20+ feet of water and
BANG, 5+ lb largemouth. The Southern end of the lake looks AWESOME
for bass,etc....

Well Just got back fished mostly in the north bay area around Snake
Point. Got a couple of nice bass also a great place to bring kids
fishing tons of white and yellow perch for them to pull up by the
ton. I also caught a good size bass off of hoyte island drifting
around. You are right about the rocks thanks for the warning.
