| | According to the back of my '86 Mass fishing license, a non-resident pays the
following fees:
Fishing $17.50
Fishing-7 days $11.50
Hunting-small game $23.50
Hunting-big game $48.50
Trapping $300.00
Appears to be no change from last year. Resident fees for comparison:
Fishing $12.50
Hunting $12.50
Sporting $19.50
Trapping $20.50
Resident Aliens pay more, Minors, Elders Handicapped pay less or are free.

| | Anyone know if the non-resident fees in .3 are still correct.
    ($24.00 1986)
My resident went up by about 30% in 1987 - which Im still ticked
off about. What did they do, or what are they gonna do with the
    extra $$???

Same subject but different - I have 3 "full" licenses. My resident
N.H, and and non-resident Mass and N.Y. How would any of you noters
like to be retiredd and travel the country fishing. How could you
afford it?? -- How about a voice for a national fishing license.
Good anywhere in the country. I know, I know - all the revenue loss.
Let each state charge a little more to each citizen. If we can do
it with drivers licenses, we can....

| | re:24 Thanks Don.
    !!!!! $30 for a non-res fishing. Who are they kidding. What a
ripoff. What have they done to the fishing in this state to justify
that kind of increase. I wonder who many who used to buy a license
    now wont.
My out of state NY ticket is $27.50 and NH cant hold a candle to
    the fishing thats there.
My out of state Ma is/was $17.50. And thats w/o state tax!! NH should
be more in line with this charge - reason is the effort both put
    into their fishing assets.
I feel sorry for the non-residents who have to pay this.

| | Jack,

Believe it or not, things are worse elsewhere. I recall reading
that Fla. and Ala. got in a p*ssing contest last year and one of
them raised the non-resident fee to $60 or something outrageous
and did away with short term licenses. The other state retaliated
with expensive hunting fees. I'm not sure where the escalation
    stopped.

| | Don't now about Ala but Florida's rates are real reasonable, I have
them at home (along with piles of maps and info that the state sent
me on request). It may have been less than $20 for a 7 day license,
I didn't pay much attention to it, whatever it costs, I'll pay it.
Considering the amount of trophies that tourists kill each year,
    I'm suprized it's not more $... donmac

| | I'm not sure about fishing license fees down south, but many of
the southern states have 'reciprocal' fees for hunting license.
That is, if you're from Alabama and want to buy a Mississippi
hunting license, you pay Miss. whatever fee Alabama charges.
    Seems pretty fair to me.

< A 10 day non-resident fishing license in Florida is only $10, and
< it's $25 for a year. Don Mac
<
	Hey Don,
For that 10 day license in FLA, add $1.00 for the Agent and
	$ .50 for the "sub-agent".   $10.00 + $1.00 + $.50 = $11.50.
If you buy from a 'county tax collector' you can save the $.50 which
the sub-agent (read K-mart, tackle shop, etc...) gets.
