IF YOU LIKE TROUT AND DON'T WANT TO DRIVE FOR FIVE HOURS THEN YOU MIGHT
WANT TO TRY THESE TWO SOUTHERN N.H. RIVERS. I FISHED BOTH OF THESE THIS
PAST WEEKEND AND PULLED IN 12 NICE FISH. THE SOUCOOK ON SATURDAY MORNING
PRODUCED MY LIMIT IN AN HOUR. THEY WERE ALL SMALL RAINBOW BETWEEN 8 AND
11 INCHES. THE CUNTOOKUK BROOKIES WERE A LITTLE SLOWER COMMING BUT WERE A
LITTLE BIGGER 10 TO 14 INCHES. ALL THESE WERE CAUGHT ON MEPPS AND ROOSTER
TAILS. A WORD OF CAUTION THERE IS A STRETCH OF THE CUNTOOKUK IN HENNIKER
THAT IS RESTRICTED TO FLY OR SINGLE HOOK LURES. BOTH RIVERS I FISHED FROM
SHORE.

The Soucook River runs along Rt. 106 up thru Louden. Take Rt. 3 & 28 north thru Hooksett, Allenstown and Pembroke. Rt 106 branches off Rt 3 just south of Concord. The river crosses 106 several times, so anywhere it crosses is a place to start. I usually start at the second bridge on 106. There's a big deep pool there and I pulled a 17" brown out two weeks ago on worms. Good luck. Joe | |||||

Just so no one thinks that the Contoocook has dried up over
the past year, I was there this past weekend and managed to pull
a 15" Rainbow out. It was in a bend just above the Fly/Single Hook
only section. Got it on an ultralight with a Mepps Aglia Long (silver
#1) towards dusk. Went back the next day, late afternoon and got
skunked, but I'll be back again.
Anyone else have any luck THIS year?

There is severe penalty's for going over the legal limit in NH
for your edification it's seven (7) fish or 5 pounds whichever
occurs first !!
A GOOD SPORTSMAN/ANGLER WOULD PLAY IT BY THE RULES !!
