I stumbled across this file and I'm glad I did!  I try to fish regularly,
mostly for bass but some trout in the spring.  Some of the waters I've 
found to be consistant producers are:

BASS...

Pawtuckaway Lake (Raymond, Nottingham, NH)

	This lake is loaded with bass and sports a tournement every year.
	I used to own a camp on the lake and fished it a lot.  Although
	you can take bass almost anywhere, the best part is the north end
	of the lake (it's called Fundy Bay).  It is relatively shallow and
	LOADED with stumps, brush islands, pads and weeds.  Absolutely ideal
	for bassin'!  If you have a boat, you can launch from the State Park
	or there is a little dirt road access from the north end of the lake.
	There are a number of 4-6 pounders and lunkers up to 9.

Massabesic Lake (Manchester, NH)

	A large water supply for Manchester, it has sizeable bass as well as
	trout and other warm water fish.  Mostly smallmouth, and the bottom
	ranges from rocky to weed beds along the shore.  Spinnerbaits, worms,
	or almost any proven lure will work well.  Great for nighttime pout.
	One word of caution.  Boats MUST be off the lake by sundown and wear
	boots when launching.  The lake is heavily patrolled.  No bathing or
	wading allowed.  Don't even take your shoes off when launching...
	they're that particular!

Big/Little Turkey Ponds (Concord, NH)

	I fished these ponds once last year with little luck.  They look like
	they should produce, maybe it was just an off day.  Heavy weed and pad
	beds.  I've heard good reports. I'll try it again this year.


TROUT...

Soucook River (Louden, NH)

	Runs along Rt. 106.  I've almost never been skunked in this small
	river for trout.  Mostly brookies and a few rainbows.  Not big fish
	but abundant.  I've been told that there are some big browns in there
	if you have the patience and know-how to get them.  Mostly stocked
	fish but some natives.  Good canoeing stream this time of year. I
	usually fish it with worms.

Lamprey River (Raymond, NH)

	Runs along Rt. 101 and is easily accessed from the road.  Although
	heavily fished, if you wade to less accessable spots, you'll do well.
	I've nailed 16-18" rainbows from here.


OK guys... now how about some feedback about some of your best spots in 
southern and central NH.

	I was just browsing through the latest issue of Field and Stream (May) and on pages 166 and 167 there is a nice writeup aboout the Souhegan,Contoocut,Ashuelot, and if I remember correctly, the Lamprey. There's quite alot of info here, especially if you're a fly fisherman. I have fished the Souhegan River quite alot, and for the most part the fish are small to average (7-10") and the best fishing is in the spring. On the upper reaches, ie Greenville and Wilton, the river was only a trickle in July and August. I have been told that the river does support fish year round, but I'm not convinced myself. The fish and Game has also stocked Atlantic salmon frye in this river last year. sa

I do most of my fishing here,I'd suggest the following ponds and lakes. Pickeral(Eastern Chain)-- Lake Umbagog, Errol N.H. Great pickeral fishing, pretty good Salmon, good Brown Trout. Very little traffic, apt to see moose or eagle. Androscoggin River downstream is noted for Salmon and Trout. Bass(Largemouth)---- Squam Lake Holderness First class bass fishing in the spring (May-June).Lake has a rocky bottom so bring plenty of tackle. Limited access. Bass(Smallmouth)---- Suncook Lake Barnstead Good smallmouth in the spring with pretty good largemouth later on. White perch run to 2 lbs. in the upper lake.
