you can call me anything you want ... even nasties!
	...NO RADIDIO ABOARD!
 |
| 318.2 | Another option... | WMODEV::LANDRY_D |  | Tue Jul 27 1993 08:25 | 14 |
| | Using a common handle like "Fish-n-V2" or "Fish-n-File" many boats
would respond at the same time and cause confusion.

Those with RADIDIO's aboard that is ;-)

Basically we need a file in here listing everyone's call name
with boat type/color/make special markings etc. And normal
fishing grounds (Merrimack, Cape, Lake's etc)

You can take the list with you but all you need to do to alert
existing boats that you are on the air is to say you boat handle
during your radidio check on VHF CH9 or CB19.

I like Tuna Tails idea. So if everyones interested what we can do is
this. In order not to clutter up this file or note why doesn't everyone
send me mail with a description of your boat, handle, etc. I'll edit
them and put in one big reply containing all the info. Sound good?

| | I don't use my radio on the lake. Just runs down the battery, and if I
had it on, I'd have to lie to all the powerboaters who say, "Hey, can
you call somebody on the radio for me?"

I'd take the antenna down, but it's 40 feet in the air. Besides, the
day might come when I'll have a need for the radio. <g>
