| | As a "YANKEE" in Toronto, I would surmise that your fishing would
relate to the types of fish in season. It's too early for bass, but
trout, probably pike and pickerel (walleye) are probably available.

There are some guys in the conference from the Ottawa valley area
that would probably be willing to help, especially if you bring some
duty free refreshments across the border.

| | Otawa? April? You're going to be ice fishing if you're fishing at all,
    I'd bet.

| | yea with this winter I would think it might still be hard water
but if you folks are out there this yankie has relatives who were rum
runners.. It is the end of Apr 28-the 30th and if fishing was open
    I could stay the weekend.

| | I would think that with your trip being the end of April,
you might be able to find some decent pickerel fishin, they spawn
in/near fast moving water during ice-out.
I would think that, along with the chance to hit some trout streams may
    be something to strive for.

Or if you want to just partake of the sights of Ottawa, there are a
few beverage locations that will take your $$$$$.

By the end of April....most rivers and small lakes should be free of
ice....the larger lakes will still be covered with ice for the most
    part.

| | As far as I know, for warmwater fish, about the only thing
here that is open are panfish. The Black Crappies are starting to bite
in the Rideau system if you are interested in ultra-lite fishin'. One
of the lads was out on the week-end with his dad and they got a good
batch of hog sized perch. Interested in fishin' for some of this
    smaller game?

| | yes, if I can get there, still having trouble getting a hotel room
looking for something within walking distance from the
Chateau Laurier Hotell in Ottawa on Rideau St...

but if I get time off, any fishing will be great

    thanks john
