| Assuming you're talking about the Concord River of Thoreau fame:
There is no Concord River above Concord. The Concord River begins at
the confluence of the Assebet and the Sudbury at Egg Rock, a little but
upstream from Minuteman National Park. You don't say what kind of boat
you want to launch, but if it's anything other than a canoe or a
rowboat -- that is, anything requiring a trailer -- the only good place
to launch that I know of is in Carlisle on the south bank of the river
just off Rte. 225.
My suggestion is that you not eat *anything* you catch in that river.
It is truly one of the most beautiful rivers in New England. It is also
formed by two very polluted rivers and is the victim of a fairly heavy
amount of illegal dumping of hazardous (and probably toxic as well)
waste.
There is a book entitled "The Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord Rivers" (or
a title quite similar) that you can pick up at the Nature Company in
Concord. It's a very nice book, written by a guy who knows all three
rivers very well.

| This is what I wanted. Am I wrong in saying that the (Concord-River)
river crosses RT62 in concord. There is a boat house there that rents
canoes. Downriver from this spot is where the Minuteman statue is?
The boat is a LOWE-LINE. Flat bottom with a 70hp. Planned to pick up
the motor after getting upriver.
I live near the Assabet river in Hudson and never keep anything I
catch. The only time I keep anything is when I go to Alaska fishing for
King Salmon. Arownd here fishing is a hobby and not a source of food.

| You can put a canoe in in the town of Sudbury. Here this is the
Sudbury River. The Canoe landing is on Rt. 117 just past Nashawtuc
Country Club. There is parking space there. This is about 3 miles or
so up river from where the Assabet meets the Sudbury to form the
Concord River. I've put in here several times. You can either paddle
down (or up) river quite easily or else use an electric or small
outboard. I've used a small 3.5 hp on the side of the canoe. Just
watch for the occasional rock or log. It's a very pleasant trip. You
can go downriver on the Concord for miles. I've been as far as
Billerica. You will see many other canoes and probably some larger
boats too if you get downstream a ways. (By "big" I mean high HP bass
boats and up to 18 ft or so other outboards.)
There's some decent bass fishing in the Sudbury very shortly after you
put in (maybe 1/4 mile downstream). The big open "bay" is called
Fairhaven Bay of Thoreau fame. 4 and 5 lb largemouth bass not
uncommon. At various places along the shores, you will see warning
signs about not eating the fish due to pollution.
Travelling down this stretch of the Sudbury and Concrod Rivers is
great. You won't be sorry you did it. Currents are mild too.

If the River is high ewe'll be able to stay on plane
all the way up to Framingham on the Sudbury.Just slow
down when ewe get to bridges,they tend to gather logs
around the abuttments.
If the river is low be very careful.There are alot of
humps that like to gather props.
