       If the only hangup regarding a Biplane is the building, you may want
    to consider the Goldberg Ultimate Biplane. All the reports I have read
    have said it is quick to build, and he has a foolproof alignment system
    to mount the wings straight. With a 120FS, this plane is capable of all
    manuvers including knife edge loops. Best of all, the kit can be had
    for as little as $99. It would be a lot more work than the Diatol, but
    its also a lot cheaper.

    I would like more info on the Diaotel (sp).  Does it come in a less
    pre-built form?
    
    As for the Ultimate Bipe.  I heard allot of good things about the
    Ultimate.  I'm just not a big fan of bipes.  I've built two and still
    prefer low wing styles.
    
    Any other suggestions?  Is it me or is there just a limited supply of
    120 size designs?

    Are you looking specifically to scale?  If not, there are a host of
    sport designs intended for .90-to-1.5 and larger engines.  Two that
    come to mind are the Super Sportster .90 and the large Bingo, both of
    which look like they'd be a lot of fun for general sport and aerobatic
    flying.

        Have you chacked out any Pattern ships? Most of the pattern ships I
    see call for a 120 FS. I have been looking at your problem from the
    other side of the coin. I have seen so many designs that call for a 120
    FS, that I am contemplating purchase of a 120 FS just to be able to
    take advantage of all the planes available for them.

|  |     There are a number of pattern designs designed for the 120 sized four
    stroker.  However I caution anyone contemplating purchasing a pattern
    kit to really understand what you're getting yourself into before you
    plank down a bundle of money.  Most kits and really semi-kits.  These
    are the basic kit containing a fiberglas fuse shell and a set of foam
    cores for the fings and for the horizontal stabs.  Instruction are
    usually a set (or one) print. Very limited data, wood sized and
    incidence data.  Everything else is assumed.  All this for the usual
    price of 150.00 - 240.00 US.  Not exactly your Goldberg Cub.

    about that?
    
    It really depends on what you're planning on doing with it. Do you want
    a big sport plane or a big scale plane or a big competition plane?

|  |     Basically I'm looking for one of two styles, either pattern or scale
    war planes.  I'd like to find a 120 size Corsair and P51.  I just had a
    Super Sportster120.  Nice looking plane, not a very impressive flyer.
    
    If pattern ships weren't so expensive, I'd go with them before the war
    birds.

|  |     I'm very happy with the way my Super Sportster 90/120 flies.  It does
    not have the fuse area to knife edge well though.  The Ultra Hots I
    just bought is too much plane for a 120 if you want spectacular
    performance.  Modeltech makes a couple of low wing sport planes that
    are in the size range for a 120.  The Draggon Lady flies very much like
    the Super Sportster.

    Chipmunk?  How would you compare it to a Sunbird 120?

    	I've never flown a Chipmunk or Sunbird so I can't compare them. 
    From what I've seen of the Chipmunk, I'd guess that the Sportster is a
    little easier to fly.
    
    	Al,
    I think that they make a bigger hots that is 91 inch span.  The one I
    got is 81 inches.  I know they have a 60 size one but I've never seen
    one in the 90/120 size range.  That don't imply that there ain't one
    though.  The Hots is not that popular at the fields I fly at
