| 14.12 | Ask someone with a catalogue for the phone number | KBOMFG::KLINGENBERG |  | Mon May 14 1990 04:42 | 23 |
| |

    Jerry,

you might want to ask Dan Miner. In the ROBBE catalog I left with
DECRCM, he might be able to find a phone or even a fax number from
ROBBE Germany (although you might be better off to call ROBBE in the US
    first).

If you are still able to open the controller carefully, have a look on
the PCB. Lots of ROBBEs R/C equipment is manufactured and probably
engineered by FUTABA, and you might find some help there. In this case,
you should find FUTABA written on the PCB.

Al, doing the Umlaut is very easy. Just type <compose character>, " and
the letter you want, and you can type Schlter as well as Mhlheim. If
you have to work on an american typewriter, you can use an 'e' after
the vocal instead, as in 'Schlueter' or 'Muehlheim'.

If I can be of any more help, let me know.

    Regards,
             Hartmut

Since I can't read German, I'm not sure what the following means so
I'll copy it directly (I assume the words are cities or the German
equivelent of "States"). Note that this is from a sticker on the

FWIW (german lesson in R/C notes) - is a special letter (there is
no capital) and is pronounced as a hard 's' (spelled as 'sz').
Strae = street. If you don't have the letter on your typewriter or
if you write a word in all capital letters, you can use a double
's' as in STRASSE. On a Digital keybord, you type <compose character>
and a double s. Having the lets you know that the vocal in advance
is pronounced long (ah) and you still have a hard 's'.
        Hope this helps.

Plans to come for Fun (polyhedral, composite trainer), Accipiter

"MERLIN has an all up design weight of 36 oz, and a wing area of 650
sq inches which yeilds a very light wing loading of less than 8
oz/sq ft. MERLIN will be tested with the new WA001 airfoil, our own
creation. The WA001 is a 9% foil with a healthy amount of
underchamber. It is designed with a bubble ramp and should require
no trip for optimum performance. The 001 should yield good thermal
and floating performance and with a 2.5 degree reflex at 75% chord
it should approach the top end performance of a pure F3B foil such
as the RG15. Although MERLIN is light, the structure is intended to
withstand ballasting to 15 oz/sq ft and launching on the strongest
winch for Sportsman F3B competition. The high strength to weight
ratio is attained through use of SPECTRA and our style 1716
    graphite/S-glass fabric."
"Terminator XC fully built $1095. The ultimate cross-country weapon.

in span interchangeable wings for strong lift days when ultimate
speed is required are sold separately. Completely built model only.

| | I've got to send in one of my 535 Rxs that decided to land vertically from
an F3B winch zoom. I called RCD in .29 and they pointed me to:
Rivendell
8 Londonderry Rd.
Derry, NH 03038
Phone: (603) 434-5371
They quoted a week to 10 days turn around at the moment. I'll report more
when I get the Rx back.
They also have a depot in Brockton (CMP Hobbies) and NJ (RJL Control Systems
(201) 627-7070)

| | Has anyone got the address and/or phone number for Dremel? I'd like

| | Jim,
Dremel Table saws are sometimes available at Spag's. You can also
get them from Micro-Mark. They advertize in Ma. That's where I got
    mine.

| | Thanks Charlie.
I had figured on checking Spag's tonight. I'll be heading down that
way to hit Staples on the way home anyway. I had thought Micro-Mark
had them but didn't see them in the couple of ads I checked. Tower
sells the blades but not the saw?

| 14.36 | Love mine - you will too, I'm sure. | CSTEAM::HENDERSON | Competition is Fun: Dtn 297-6180, MRO4 | Tue Dec 29 1992 09:51 | 9 |
| | SEARS sells the blades. For cutting balsa the blade that comes with it
are just fine. For harder wood get the carbide version.

I bought the Micro-Mark sliding tray and use it constantly.
Also I could not do without the dust bag accessory.

    Regards

| 14.37 | Sure seemed invaluable when I tried yours | 3D::REITH | Jim 3D::Reith MLO1-2/c37 223-2021 | Tue Dec 29 1992 09:59 | 5 |
| | I've built sliding trays (for my Shopsmith and others) before so
I'll probably just build mine. I've also got a dust collection
system that I'll hook it up to. What I really need to figure out
is where I can put it to leave it set up in the shop. I saw a 108
tooth blade listed also. I figured I'd pick up the finer blade.
 |
| 14.38 | The bag is still a good idea. | CSTEAM::HENDERSON | Competition is Fun: Dtn 297-6180, MRO4 | Tue Dec 29 1992 11:45 | 10 |
| | The little dust bag catches the dust without the need of a vac. system.
I used to use a shop vac to collect the dust but I found that I didn't
need it. Plus the frequent visits to the little saw table don't justify
the constant turning on and off of a dust collection system.

I persuaded Wally to get the little dust bag and he loves it.

    Regards,

    E.

| | Alas, a clerk at Spag's was well informed. The reason I can't find it
anywhere is because the discontinued it last summer. 8^( He didn't know
of anything similar elsewhere on the market.
I've found larger fine tooth blades but the RPM would have to be
significantly lower to offer the same speed through the wood (and quality
of cut)

| | Rivendell returned my repaired reciever last week and I verified it at
lunchtime. It works well and I'll probably stick it in my Gremlin for
sunday's contest. Total cost was $15 8^)
Looks like a new Rx since they replaced the cracked case as well as
repairing the boards and applying some ECOs.
Took a little while due to their surface mount machine being down but
the season's just starting...
