I have a few minor details to work out and then it's time to start
cutting balsa for my FlyBaby. I've found an example that uses a
PA18 pressure type cowl as apposed to the J3 Cub stype cowl. I've
sent a letter to the owner and am awaiting his reply before I start
    construction.

    		Ace 4-60/90

I'm trying to get a job in Colorado, so I don't want to be in the
middle of something, then have to think about moving it cross country.

Looks like mine will be the Stearman PT-17. It's a 64 1/2" Bipe.
I like the looks of it and saw a real one on television awhile
    back.

| | re .-2 Sure - build the gentle lady.
Since I think I have completed any Christmas shopping I guess I can
now commit to winter projects. I just finished the Thermal charger
and that was suppose to be a winter project from last year.
(1) Hobie Hawk I've already covered the wings with Mica Film
and painted the Fuselage. Waiting for a receiver
to arrive from Sheldon's. I have high hopes that
this plane will allow me to complete my 1/2 hour
                      thermal obligation for LSF III.

(2) Japanese Zero I bought this from Dan Snow for $50. It is the Royal
Junior kit (.60 size) and Dan had started the
fuselage framing. Then it sat for a long time
and curved a bit so I took it apart again. I couldn't
get the fuselage aligned up to save my sole. The
directions don't help as there is no clue as to how
to jig it up. So finally I cut all the formers in
half and sanded them together to make both halves
have exactly the same shape. Then I put it back
together. It is far from perfect. It straighter than
when I started. I purchases a ASP .61 FSR for it
from Harvey Tomaisian and am still thinking about
what kind (if any) retracts. Alto I plan to finish
this this winter I am not planning to finish in time
for the Spring Phenix Fun Fly. I have one Berliner-Joyce
set aside and ready to go to that.
(3) Dodgson Lovesong This is in Christmas wrap now and I hope to have my
work bench cleared off and ready to go during Christmas
vacation. I am very excited about this and can't wait
to get started - tho I intend to proceed very cautiously.
I want it to be as close to perfect as I can get and there
is a lot new things for me to learn. I have never sheeted
foam core wings before. I have never hinged flaps with
the interleaved covering cloth scheme that Dodgson uses.
                      I have never...
(4,5,6) Rubber kits I have 3 Peck Polymers kits that I hope to get to.
One peanut scale Bipe, one peanut scale Lacey, and one
thing called a "One Niter" (about 16" wing span with a
very large prop). I took it out of the box and looked
at the plans yesterday - sure looks like more than a
                      one night project!
Bye --+--
