| | Thanks for the info, Kay but that's not
    "HOUSE OF BALSA". I called and the girl
    who answered said that's another company!

    Anyone who can help me, I'd be much obliged.

    Thanks again,

    Tom

|  |     Tom,

    I really hate to bring this up but I don't believe House of Balsa
    handles the Candy-man, .40-size Mustang anymore. I seem to remember
    that it was bought up by another kit-maker, possibly Great Planes,
    and is now provided with a fiberglass fuse. As a matter of fact,
    I don't believe House of Balsa exists anymore...I seem to remember
    it went out of business. To verify, you might try contacting Great
    Planes @(217) 367-2069.

    AL,
     I was looking at the TOWER TALKS this month and
    there is a P51 kit from HOUSE OF BALSA in there.
    I'm still wondering if they do still exhist.. I
    know I've seen ads in other mags but I'll be damned
    if I can find one now. Keep your eyes open. I'll
    keep at it also...

|  |     Al,

     I took you advise and called TOWER and they
    had an address and phone # for HOUSE OF BALSA!
    I'll call them later......

    Thanks again,

| 830.7 | and on we go... | MPGS::PERCUOCO |  | Thu Jan 12 1989 13:16 | 10 |
| | Well, I called house of balsa in California and
    they told me that the P51 Candyman they sold is now
    sold by PAUL'S FLYING STUFF in Escondido Ca. I also
    found out that the HOUSE OF BALSA P51 in the tower talks
    is not what Tower has in the description. The kit is really
    a small 20 size plane and not a 40. the description was supposed
    to have been changed awhile ago according to H.O.B. An interesting
    run-around I've been thru! Hope this has been informative...

|  |     Tom,

    Well, that at least validates what I thought I remembered hearing;
    that someone(?) had bought the Candyman P-51 from House of Balsa.
    Looks like you've zeroed in on the _real_ source of the kit...now
    do you intend to order one??

| 830.9 | I'll probably get one.. | MPGS::PERCUOCO |  | Thu Jan 12 1989 17:12 | 17 |
|  |     Al,

     After I got off the phone with you, I called
    PAUL'S FLYING STUFF and the girl told me that
    they purchased the CANDYMAN KIT from House of
    Balsa, sometime ago. They actually have 2 kits
    now. One is glass and the other is wood. They've
    discontinued the wood kit but plan on re-introducing
    it sometime in the future. She praised the glass kit
    very highly. It has a glass fuse and a built up balsa
    wing and is very durable and fit's together like a
    glove. She's gonna send me the cataloge and I'm gonna
    probably buy one. I'll keep you posted.

    Thanks for the info Al,

    Tom

| 830.10 | ...one more thing! | MPGS::PERCUOCO |  | Thu Jan 12 1989 17:15 | 7 |
| | ...One other note, the glass kit sells for
    $135.00. They only work their business on a
    part time basis so when the wood kits ran out
    they didn't keep building them. They will be
    building them in the future.
