We had a speaker from the Worcester County Sportsman league at our

monthly Sportsman Club meeting, last night.

He went into some detail about this and yes they are after ALL hunting

eventually. These people are backed by big money from the Humane

    Society.

Please speak to your local town clerk regarding monitoring of

signature validation. If the address is different or the signature's

don't match the petition signature is thrown out. They need 65000

signatures and they are concentrating on college towns like Worcester

and Amherst. Some town clerks are not very thorough about validating

signatures, so if we make them do it right it will go along way towards

    stopping these people.

| | The Worcester Sunday Telegram had a good article regarding the spead of
coyote's into the 'burbs..specifically Southborough, Holden, ect. and
how they have the "cleaned" the neighborhoods of small game and pets.
It then stated the concerns of the families for their pre-schoolers as
the coyotes have been very visible. Despite the "naturalists" beliefs
stated by these folks, hope was expressed to see the coyotes controlled
via trapping during November given there is insufficient space to allow
for shooting between the homes. The article went on to decscibe how
these folks have come to realize that relocation of these animals was out
of the question. The article was interesting in that it offered trapping as
the "best" remedy, without playing up the fear/ concern that neighborhood
kids or pets might get caughtin the traps. All-in-all it seemed a very fair
representation of the sports "value" in assisting with environmental
"management" when the public expresses concern for the predator
overstepping its' welcome in one's environment.

I read the same article and laughed my butt off. Here are a bunch
of anti's who now because THEY are being affected by the coyotes,
want them killed. What a bunch of hypocrites.

I just read in the MASSACHUSETSS conf that area malls are going
to be over run with people wanting petitons for ballots to be
signed. If you see them be sure to ask what it is you're signing
it may be anti hunting/trapping stuff too.

Well, here (State of New South Wales, Australia) yesterday, they passed
a law banning duck season. Totally, for all time.

| | are you running out of ducks or something?

What's the motivation to do something like this? I guess the division
of natural resources or whatever supports the wildlife will need to
find new jobs now that their funding dissapears. Or will they (the
state) just crank up another tax bill to get john Q public to support
    it?

We have huge rice crops in this state that feed millions of ducks.
There is definitely no shortage of 'em. Don't worry, the National Parks
and Wildlife people get loads of $$$ out of the public purse.

Basically, it was pushed by an inner-city "green" politician who just
felt that it wasn't "right". Problem is that the farmers who are
allowed permits to shoot the duck year around (for the rice crops) are
now NOT allowed to have people shoot their ducks for them.

Every year the "green" people used to bring some dead road kill etc in
front of the cameras claiming that the Duck shooters were killing
    "endangered" species.
