| | The cold snap last week got the whitetails going crazy here in Ky. too.
I have seen 5 deer dead on the roads in the last 3 days, 2 were bucks,
one was a whopper. I went scouting again Sat. and found an area that
had about 30 rubs and 5 big scapes. That buck had the entire are tore
all to pieces. If the cool weather holds out, I think it is going to
    be a good opener(OCt 1).

We don't have any Moose here, I did see a what I thought was a moose,
but it turned out to be a fat chick that needed to shave her legs.

Did you get to keep the animal?

For all that damage a few steaks would seem appropriate.

| | RE: the last couple,
Yes I had the option of keeping the moose but seeing as I wasn't thinking
too clearly at the time I gave it to the cop that did the report with the
understanding that I get the rack.
Seeing as I was the second car to hit it and after seeing how much it had been
"tenderized" plus being 0600 in the morning and not having any idea how to get
it to someplace to be cut up *or* who to call, how to get it off the road,,
etc, etc I figured letting the cop handle it was the best way to go.
The first car that hit it, the moose trashed his front end, came up over the
hood, took out the windshield and flattened the roof. I came along about 20
seconds after the first guy hit it and he told me he saw it trying to get up
just as I hit it.
I never even saw it. (If I did I don't remember it) :-)
